AGENSI PEKERJAAN TRUST RECRUIT SDN. BHD. is seeking a Senior Technical Delivery Engineer (Systems & Storage) to lead design, implementation, and lifecycle management of server, virtualization, storage, backup and cloud compute platforms.
The role oversees architecture and serves as the senior technical authority for compute and data platform decisions within the Technical Delivery team. The candidate will own cloud compute and storage domains, co-own the DR program, and set technical standards.
The Senior Technical Delivery Engineer (Systems & Storage) is a hands-on technical lead accountable for the design, implementation and lifecycle management of server, virtualisation, storage, backup and cloud compute platforms. The role owns systems and storage solution architecture for complex customer environments and is the senior technical authority for compute and data platform design decisions within the Technical Delivery team.
The role owns the cloud compute and storage domain, and shares ownership of the disaster recovery program with the Network Infrastructure pillar. It sets systems and storage technical standards, leads projects from design through go-live, and serves as the highest point of escalation for complex platform incidents. As the pillar carries limited depth, the role is expected to establish documented standards and transferable operational knowledge rather than hold expertise personally.
Job Responsibilities
Compute & Virtualization: Design, build, and optimize VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or Nutanix AHV. Administer Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, and Group Policy. Handle OS hardening, patch management, and capacity planning.
Storage Infrastructure: Provision and manage enterprise SAN, NAS, and HCI systems. Set up storage tiering, snapshots, and replication topologies. Monitor performance runway and direct lifecycle/firmware upgrades.
Backup & Disaster Recovery: Co-own the DR program. Design and test backup schedules, replication, and recovery runbooks to strictly hit target RPO and RTO metrics.
Cloud Infrastructure: Lead public/private cloud (AWS, Azure) migrations, compute/storage designs, cost optimization, and cross-region resilience.
Operations & Leadership: Serve as the L2/L3 escalation point and lead root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents. Author HLD/LLD documents, SOPs, and build guides to ensure operational knowledge is fully transferable.
Job Requirements
Experience: 5-8+ years in enterprise systems, virtualization, and storage engineering, with proven experience executing full-lifecycle project delivery and DR testing.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in CS, IT, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Required Certification: VMware VCP-DCV, Microsoft Windows Server, Azure Administrator, or direct equivalent.
Preferred Certifications: Enterprise Storage (NetApp, Dell EMC, Huawei), Nutanix NCP, AWS/Azure Associate+, Veeam (VMCE), or Commvault.
Core Skills:
Deep expertise in hypervisors, Active Directory, storage fabrics (iSCSI, FC, NFS, SMB), and cloud migration tools.
Automation and scripting proficiency (PowerShell, Python, Ansible).
Baseline networking knowledge for end-to-end connectivity troubleshooting.
Working Conditions: Requires flexibility for after-hours maintenance windows, on-call support, and occasional data center/site visits.
