Job summary

United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd is seeking a Trade Sales Advisor to drive trade finance business growth by identifying client needs and delivering tailored solutions. You will deepen client relationships with corporate and commercial clients and work with Credit, Legal, Operations, and Product teams to ensure seamless delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in trade finance sales or advisory roles within a financial institution.
• Strong understanding of trade finance products (LCs, Guarantees, Receivables Financing, Supply Chain Finance).
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building strong client relationships.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Professional certifications in trade finance (e.g., CDCS) are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Proactively engage with corporate and commercial clients to understand their trade finance requirements, including import/export financing, guarantees, and supply chain solutions.
• Structure and propose appropriate trade finance products and services that align with client business objectives and risk appetites.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, acting as a trusted advisor for their trade finance needs.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders such as Credit, Legal, Operations, and Product Development teams to ensure seamless execution and delivery of trade solutions.
• Prepare and present comprehensive trade finance proposals, including financial analysis and risk assessments, to clients and internal committees.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes in the trade finance landscape to identify new business opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Achieve individual and team sales targets for trade finance products and services.
• Provide training and guidance to junior team members on trade finance products and sales strategies.
• Ensure compliance with all internal policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements.
