Job summary

ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors is seeking a maintenance/engineering professional to provide troubleshooting, repair, and PM on test systems and probing equipment in Kulim, Malaysia. The role requires identifying root causes, maintaining spare parts, and documenting maintenance activities while supporting process engineers in improvement initiatives.

Candidate must hold a Diploma in Engineering with at least 5 years in manufacturing or test/inspection engineering.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing or test & inspection engineering.
• Rotational shifts required.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Melayu, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair support for test systems and wafer probing equipment.
• Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on machines and equipment.
• Ensure availability of critical spare parts and maintain inventory levels.

• Provide technical troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair support for test systems and wafer probing equipment.
• Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions to restore functionality.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance and follow standard maintenance procedures and safety guidelines.
• Ensure availability of critical spare parts and maintenance materials and monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to avoid equipment downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of daily, monthly, and yearly maintenance activities and update maintenance logs, checklists, and reports in a timely manner.
• Assist Process/Test Engineers in equipment evaluation, setup, and qualification activities and support experiments, data collection, and validation during process improvement initiatives.

• Candidate must have at least a Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing or test & inspection engineering is needed for this position.
• Willing to work in rotational shifts.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Melayu in both verbal and written.
