Job summary

MY01 Wolfspeed Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer in Ipoh to design, deploy, and operate enterprise-grade infrastructure across on‑premises and cloud environments.

You will manage Dell servers, NetApp and Pure storage, VMware vSphere, and cross‑functional teams to ensure high availability and performance. You will automate infrastructure using PowerShell, Python, and Bash, participate in DR planning, and mentor junior engineers while documenting architectures

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in infrastructure engineering and systems administration.
• Expert-level with Dell server hardware and management tools (iDRAC, OpenManage).
• Extensive NetApp storage administration and protocols (NFS, CIFS, iSCSI).
• Advanced VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter expertise.
• Cloud proficiency in AWS and Azure for data-center services.
• Strong scripting for automation: PowerShell, Python, Bash.
• Windows/Linux administration and networking fundamentals.
• Experience leading complex infrastructure projects and mentoring juniors.
• Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Implement, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade infrastructure solutions utilizing Dell servers, NetApp and Pure storage, and VMware virtualization.
• Implement, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade infrastructure solutions utilizing cloud infrastructure, compute, storage, services and tools.
• Contribute to complex infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning.
• Manage and optimize NetApp and Pure storage systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and data integrity.
• Administer and enhance VMware environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter, virtual networking, and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of all infrastructure components.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure automation scripts and tools using PowerShell, Python, Bash and other scripting/automation tools.
• Proactively monitor system health, performance, and security across all infrastructure components, on-prem and in the cloud.
• Provide expert Tier2 support and technical mentorship to junior engineers and technicians within the global team.
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution to ensure business continuity.
• Provide expertise in ServiceNow ticketing, problem and incident management.
• Provide flexibility to work shift schedules and on‑call duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering and systems administration.
• Expert-level knowledge of Dell server hardware and management tools (e.g., iDRAC, OpenManage).
• Extensive experience with NetApp storage systems, including administration, configuration, and protocols (NFS, CIFS, iSCSI).
• Advanced proficiency in VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and related virtualization technologies.
• Advanced proficiency in AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure and services related to delivering cloud data‑center services.
• Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for infrastructure automation and monitoring.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, SAN environments, and Windows/Linux server administration.
• Solid understanding of cloud networking fundamentals, compute, storage, and administration.
• Proven ability to lead complex infrastructure projects and provide mentorship to junior staff.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Expert knowledge of hardware remote administration on blade chassis, stand‑alone servers.
• Experience in DNS, DHCP, AD services, SCCM, and other Windows troubleshooting.
• Experience troubleshooting third‑party and custom applications.
• Proficiency with network, Windows, and storage protocols, including TCP/IP, SMB, NFS, and CIFS.
• Expert-level Linux administration skills related to file systems, mounts, advanced file‑system and OS troubleshooting.
• Advanced VMware proficiency on vCenter hypervisor and all related components.
• Proficiency in VMware, datastore, VCF Cloud, SDDC Manager, PortGroups, CPU and Memory.
• Proficiency in Storage SVMs, cluster configuration, storage grid, etc.
• Experience in Azure and AWS cloud tenant administration.
• Expert-level administration and troubleshooting of cloud storage, compute, and networking.
• ServiceNow ticketing, problem and incident management required.
• Flexibility to work shift schedules and on‑call duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
• NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA).
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Administrator Associate (or equivalent).
• Dell Technologies Certified Engineer (DCE or equivalent).
