Job summary

Wolfspeed Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. seeks an experienced infrastructure engineer to design, deploy, and optimize enterprise IT solutions across on‑prem and cloud environments.

You will lead complex projects, manage Dell servers, NetApp and Pure storage, and drive virtualization with VMware in a global team. The role requires advanced AWS/Azure cloud proficiency, strong scripting skills, and a track record of mentoring engineers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of infrastructure engineering and systems administration experience.
• Expert knowledge of Dell server hardware and management tools (iDRAC, OpenManage).
• Extensive NetApp storage administration, configuration, and protocols (NFS, CIFS, iSCSI).
• Advanced VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter proficiency and virtualization skills.
• Advanced AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure experience (compute, storage, networking, security).
• Strong scripting abilities in PowerShell, Python, and Bash for automation.

Responsibilities

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Implement, deploy, and maintain enterprise‑grade infrastructure solutions utilizing Dell servers, NetApp and Pure storage, VMware virtualization, and cloud platforms (AWS and Azure)
• Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure services, including compute, storage, networking, and security configurations
• Lead complex infrastructure projects, including cloud migrations, hybrid integrations, upgrades, and capacity planning
• Manage and optimize NetApp and Pure storage systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and data integrity
• Administer and enhance VMware environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter, virtual networking, and lifecycle management
• Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of all infrastructure components
• Develop and maintain infrastructure automation scripts and tools using PowerShell, Python, Bash, and cloud‑native automation tools
• Proactively monitor system health, performance, and security across on‑premises and cloud environments
• Provide expert Tier3 support and technical mentorship to junior engineers and technicians within the global team
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure architecture, configurations, and operational procedures
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution to ensure business continuity

Minimum Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering and systems administration
• Expert‑level knowledge of Dell server hardware and management tools (e.g., iDRAC, OpenManage)
• Extensive experience with NetApp storage systems, including administration, configuration, and protocols (NFS, CIFS, iSCSI)
• Advanced proficiency in VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and related virtualization technologies
• Advanced proficiency in AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure, including services for compute, storage, networking, and security
• Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for infrastructure automation and monitoring
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, SAN environments, and Windows/Linux server administration
• Solid understanding of cloud networking fundamentals, compute, storage, and identity management
• Proven ability to lead complex infrastructure projects and provide mentorship to junior staff
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Expert knowledge of hardware remote administration on blade chassis, stand‑alone servers
• Experience in DNS, DHCP, AD services, SCCM and other Windows troubleshooting
• Strong proficiency in troubleshooting 3rd‑party and custom applications
• Experience with NetApp‑based hardware, AFF chassis and other components
• Proficiency with network, Windows, and storage protocols but not limited to TCP/IP, SMB, NFS and CIFS shares
• Expert‑level Linux administration skills related to file systems, file‑mount volumes, advanced file‑system and OS troubleshooting
• Advanced Linux administration skills to mount volumes, basic file‑system and OS troubleshooting
• Advanced VMware proficiency at vCenter and ESX troubleshooting
• Proficiency in PowerCLI and PowerShell scripting
• Terraform coding a plus
• Experience in Azure and AWS cloud fundamentals in compute, networking and storage
• ServiceNow ticketing, problem and incident management required
• Flexibility to work shift schedules and on‑call duties as required

Preferred Qualifications

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
• NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA)
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Administrator Associate (or equivalent)
• Dell Technologies Professional (DCE or equivalent)
