Job summary

Stratus Automation Sdn Bhd is seeking a seasoned System Test Lead to define and review test strategies for NPI and Development Test projects. You will coordinate DT activities with Application Engineering to verify product requirements and ensure traceability across procedures and test cases.

Responsibilities

• Lead the definition and review of system test strategies, risk-based test plans, test coverage, and acceptance criteria for NPI and Development Test projects.
• Lead and coordinate Development Test (DT) activities with Application Engineering to verify and validate customized products against customer and system requirements.
• Review and approve test procedures, test cases, test scenarios, and acceptance criteria to ensure requirement traceability, adequate coverage, and repeatable execution.
• Define, develop, and improve system test setups, fixtures, diagnostic tools, and automated test solutions to improve test coverage, repeatability, and efficiency.
• Lead system-level functional, performance, reliability, interoperability, compatibility, integration, and regression testing, including risk-based and edge-case scenarios.
• Lead cross-functional troubleshooting with R&D, Application Engineering, Software/Firmware, and other stakeholders to isolate root causes, agree corrective actions, and verify resolution.
• Lead complex failure investigations and root cause analysis (RCA), using test data, logs, measurements, and system behavior to establish evidence-based conclusions and corrective actions.
• Own system-level test risks and technical issues, including: Design-related issues, Testing equipment and instrumentation, Critical test setups, Test documentation and records retention, All other test-related concerns
• Ensure test results, requirements traceability, defect records, risk assessments, and verification evidence are complete, reviewed, and maintained under document-control requirements.
• Define equipment and tooling requirements, justify resource needs, and coordinate procurement, qualification, calibration, and maintenance of test assets.
• Coordinate test activities, dependencies, technical risks, and deliverables with R&D, Application Engineering, and project managers across project phases.
• Plan and coordinate system test activities for NPI builds, communicate test status and risks, elevate critical issues, and recommend design or process improvements.
• Review and prepare test reports, technical assessments, failure investigation reports, and release recommendations based on verified test evidence.
• Drive continuous improvement in test strategy, coverage, automation, test efficiency, and defect prevention; establish and track relevant test performance metrics.

What You Will Do:

Lead the definition and review of system test strategies, risk-based test plans, test coverage, and acceptance criteria for NPI and Development Test projects.

What You Will Bring (Required Qualifications):

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent. For existing internal employees, lower educational background with relevant years of experience is acceptable.2 to 5 years of relevant working experience in production planning, material planning, or supply chain support.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in system testing, product verification/validation, hardware/software integration, or related engineering fields, including ownership of complex test activities.

Advanced capability in root cause analysis (RCA), structured problem-solving, risk assessment, and complex failure investigation.

Ability to interpret complex test data, logs, measurements, and system behavior, and convert findings into technical decisions and corrective actions.

Strong understanding of NPI and Development Test processes, requirement traceability, test readiness, and cross-functional product development.

Knowledge of structured failure analysis, risk-based testing, and problem-solving methodologies such as 5 Why, fishbone analysis, or equivalent.

Experience selecting, qualifying, and troubleshooting system test equipment, instrumentation, fixtures, and test setups.
