Job summary

Stratus Automation Sdn Bhd (Malaysia) seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer to drive supplier quality management for our automation equipment and AMHS solutions. You will lead supplier audits, qualification, and quality programs to meet regulatory and customer requirements.

The ideal candidate has at least four years in supplier quality, a relevant engineering degree, and certifications such as ASQ CQE. Fluency in English and Malay is essential; Mandarin is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in engineering or quality management.
• Minimum 4 years' experience in supplier quality management in equipment/automation industries.
• Exposure to metal fabrication, PCBA and SMT manufacturing.
• Strong command of English and Malay; Mandarin desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support supplier selection and qualification, ensuring quality standards and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and implement supplier QA programs, audits, inspections, and process controls.
• Monitor supplier performance against defined metrics.
• Identify and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with sourcing, procurement, engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Maintain audit records, inspection records, and corrective action documentation.
• Support supplier development and onboarding processes.
• Bridge technical specification gaps between internal teams and suppliers.
• Perform other duties as directed by management.

What You Will Do:

Supplier Selection and Qualification: Help Supply Chain team to evaluate and select suppliers based on quality standards, capabilities, and regulatory compliance.

Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality assurance programs for suppliers, including audits, inspections and process controls.

Performance Monitoring and Evaluation: Track and evaluate supplier performance against agreed-upon metrics and standards.

Corrective Action and Continuous Improvement: Identify and address quality issues with suppliers, implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement.

Communication and Collaboration: Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal teams (sourcing, procurement, engineering, manufacturing).

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of supplier audits, inspections, and corrective actions. Maintaining detailed records of supplier quality performance, documenting issues and resolutions, and preparing reports to track quality metrics.

Supplier Development: Provide guidance and support to suppliers to improve their quality processes and performance.

Supplier Audit Planning and Execution: Develop and execute audit plans to assess supplier compliance and identify areas for improvement.

Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering collaboration and trust.

New Supplier Onboarding: Develop and implement processes for onboarding new suppliers, ensuring they meet company quality standards.

Problem-solve and bridge technical specification gaps between internal engineering team and supplier.

Perform other duties and special assignments as directed by management.

What You Will Bring (RequiredQualifications):

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, quality management), preferably mechanical or materials engineering background.

Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, ISO 9001 auditor) are a plus.

Minimum 4 years of proven experience in supplier quality management, quality control and assurance in the field of equipment or automation solution industry.

Metal fabrication, PCBA and SMT manufacturing exposure are additional advantage

Good command of English and Malay. Proficiency in Mandarin is highly desirable for other regional supplier communication.
