Job summary

DZH International Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Senior System Engineer to own and optimize our enterprise IT environment behind award-winning trading systems used by leading brokerages and banks across Asia. You will manage infrastructure, implement security best practices, and mentor junior engineers in a fast-moving production setting.

Hybrid work options are available after probation. The role covers core infrastructure, server administration (RHEL, Windows Server), virtualization

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in system engineering, infrastructure management, or IT operations.
• Proven track record supporting enterprise-grade production infrastructure.
• Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server, Linux (RHEL), and virtualization.
• Experience with firewalls Fortigate/pfSense and core networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, VPN).
• Familiarity with AWS or Azure, Docker, and monitoring tools like Zabbix.
• Certifications such as RHCSA/RHCE, CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Security+ a plus.

Responsibilities

• Keep systems healthy via daily checks for stability and uptime.
• Run core infrastructure: network, servers, storage, IP telephony, and related services.
• Manage server environments (RHEL, Windows Server) across physical, virtual, and cloud platforms.
• Maintain virtualization platforms (Linux KVM, Windows Hyper-V).
• Deliver infrastructure changes: provisioning, migration, decommissioning.
• Protect continuity with backups and disaster recovery solutions.
• Harden the environment with firewall policies and access controls.
• Configure and maintain network services, VPNs, switches, and load balancers.
• Coordinate with security vendors on VAPT exercises and SIEM operations.
• Mentor junior engineers and document runbooks and SOPs.

What You’ll Own & Ace

Keep systems healthy – perform daily application and system health checks to ensure stability and uptime

Run core infrastructure – manage network, servers, storage, IP telephony, and related enterprise services

Own server environments – administer RHEL and Windows Server across physical, virtual, and cloud platforms

Manage virtualisation – support and maintain hypervisor platforms including Linux KVM and Windows Hyper-V

Deliver infrastructure changes – plan and execute server provisioning, migration, and decommissioning activities

Protect business continuity – manage backup and disaster recovery solutions to keep the business resilient

Secure the environment – administer firewall policies, harden systems, remediate vulnerabilities, and enforce access controls

Manage network services – configure and maintain switches, routers, VLANs, VPNs, and load balancers

Work with security vendors – coordinate VAPT exercises and collaborate with MSS providers on SIEM operations, alert tuning, and incident follow-up

Monitor & optimise – maintain monitoring and alerting tools, perform capacity planning, and resolve performance bottlenecks

Guide the team – mentor junior engineers and contribute technical leadership across infrastructure initiatives

Stay documentation-ready – maintain asset records, diagrams, SOPs, runbooks, and change documentation with discipline

What You Bring to the Table

Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent

5+ years of experience in system engineering, infrastructure management, or IT operations (Less experienced candidates will be considered for Associate positions)

Proven track record supporting enterprise-grade production infrastructure

Strong hands-on experience with:

Windows Server

Linux KVM and Windows Hyper-V

Fortigate and pfSense firewalls

Core networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, VLAN, VPN, load balancing

Backup and disaster recovery solutions

Monitoring and alerting tools such as Zabbix

Basic scripting skills for automation using Bash, PowerShell, or equivalent

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and support after-hours/weekend issues when required

Good communication, vendor coordination, and collaboration skills

Experience with AWS or Azure

Familiarity with Docker or Docker Swarm

Knowledge of databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle

Experience with Postfix, Exchange, Apache, or related infrastructure tools

Familiarity with security standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, or PCI-DSS

Experience with EDR, DLP, PAM, or Microsoft Purview

Hands-on experience with HAProxy including load balancing, SSL termination, health checks, ACLs, and HA setup
