Job summary

Grab seeks a Senior Software Engineer to build the services and automation behind Grab's cloud infrastructure platform. You will lead secure, reliable self-service workflows for cloud-resource access, connectivity and lifecycle management, while remaining hands-on with implementation and production operations.

You will work across engineering teams, guide design and code reviews, and help develop AI-assisted infrastructure tools with clear permission boundaries and verification.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, including designing and operating production backend services in Go, Python or a comparable language.
• Strong API design and failure-handling skills, with the ability to make and explain technical trade-offs.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure, Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools, identity and access management, and cloud networking.
• Experience with automated testing, Git, CI/CD, Docker, production deployments and rollback.
• Experience building or integrating AI-assisted engineering workflows, including context management, tools, safeguards and evaluation.
• Ability to compare AI models, verify outputs and design appropriate fallbacks for production workflows.
• Experience debugging production systems with logs, metrics and alerts, and guiding other engineers through reviews and delivery.
• Preferred: Experience building self-service infrastructure platforms used by multiple engineering teams.
• Preferred: Experience operating containerised services on Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of backend services and APIs used by engineering teams across Grab.
• Automate resource provisioning, configuration and decommissioning with least-privilege access, auditability and safe handling of retries or duplicate requests.
• Build reusable components for AI-assisted workflows, including context retrieval, tool integration, permission checks and evaluation.
• Assess AI models and providers for suitability, reliability, latency, cost and safety while keeping integrations portable.
• Define tests, observability, deployment and rollback practices for the services you own.
• Participate in Cloud Infrastructure on-call duties, investigate incidents and drive corrective actions.
• Lead technical discussions and code reviews, mentor engineers and improve engineering standards.
