Job summary

Grab is seeking a Senior IT Cloud Engineer to design, operate, scale, and secure Grab's enterprise cloud ecosystem from its Petaling Jaya office. You will lead multi-cloud architecture, build AI-driven automations, and act as a technical escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.

You will report to the IT Network Manager and collaborate with Security, Procurement, Finance, and IT teams to ensure compliant, efficient operations across AWS, Azure, GCP, and on‑prem integrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in computing fields.
• 5+ years hands-on experience managing and hardening enterprise cloud infrastructure.
• Advanced scripting or programming in at least two languages.
• Experience with enterprise monitoring and infrastructure‑as‑code tools.
• 2+ years automating tasks with serverless or workflow platforms.

Responsibilities

• Architect, administer, and optimize cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Design, deploy, and maintain API integrations, webhooks, and automations to boost efficiency.
• Drive IaC adoption using Terraform and Ansible.
• Develop automation scripts in Python, PowerShell, Bash, Go, or JavaScript.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated workflows.
• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement proactive improvements.
• Provide escalation support for complex infrastructure and security issues.
• Design disaster recovery, multi-region failover, and business continuity plans.
• Apply security-by-design principles across enterprise cloud infra.
• Collaborate with Security, Procurement, Finance, vendors and IT teams on compliance and FinOps.
• Document architecture, procedures, integration patterns, and troubleshooting playbooks.

Get to Know the Role

We are looking for a Senior IT Cloud Engineer to design, operate, scale, and secure Grab's enterprise cloud ecosystem. You will lead the architecture and administration of multi‑cloud environments, build AI‑driven automations, and serve as a technical escalation point for complex enterprise infrastructure issues.

You will report to the IT Network Manager and be based onsite at our Petaling Jaya office.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Architect, administer, and optimize cloud infrastructure across various cloud platforms AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
• You will design, deploy, and maintain API integrations, webhooks, and workflow automations that reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
• You will drive infrastructure-as-code adoption using tools such as Terraform and Ansible etc.
• You will develop advanced scripts and automation using languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, Go, or JavaScript
• You will build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated operational workflows.
• You will monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement proactive improvements.
• You will provide technical escalation support for complex infrastructure, network, endpoint, identity, and access issues.
• Design and implement disaster recovery, backup, multi-region failover, and business continuity strategies.
• Apply security‑by‑design principles across the enterprise cloud infrastructure.
• Partner with Security, Procurement, Finance, vendors, and IT teams to manage compliance, software lifecycles, vendor relationships, and FinOps initiatives.
• Document architecture, operational procedures, integration patterns, and troubleshooting playbooks.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (equivalent practical experience considered)
• At least 5 years of hands‑on experience managing, securing, and hardening enterprise cloud infrastructure and SaaS platforms
• Advanced scripting or programming skills in at least two languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Go, or JavaScript)
• Hands‑on experience setting up and maintaining enterprise monitoring platforms (Zabbix, Grafana, Datadog, or similar)
• Strong experience with infrastructure‑as‑code tools, Terraform is preferred
• At least 2 years of experience automating repetitive operational tasks using AWS Lambda, n8n, or comparable serverless and workflow‑automation platforms.
• Experience managing enterprise DNS services, public domain registration, SSL/TLS certificate lifecycles, including certificate issuance, renewal, monitoring, deployment, and centralized certificate‑management platforms.
• Solid understanding of enterprise networking components (DNS, DHCP, VPN, VPC/VNet peering, firewalls, routing, load balancing, zero‑trust security)
• Strong troubleshooting experience across Windows, macOS, and Linux environments, strong knowledge of containerized environment
