Job summary

Erallex sdn bhd is seeking an experienced Senior Site Engineer to join our Civil and Structural Engineering team on a full-time basis in Tanjung Malim, Perak. You will lead on-site activities, supervise construction, and ensure quality, safety and efficiency across projects.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Civil or Structural Engineering, PE registration is desirable, and at least 8 years of hands-on site experience managing medium to large-scale projects in Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related discipline from a recognised institution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration or equivalent certification in Malaysia is desirable.
• Minimum 8 years of hands-on site engineering experience in civil and structural construction projects.
• Proven track record in managing medium to large-scale construction projects from commencement through to completion.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications and drawings.
• Conduct daily site inspections and maintain site records, progress reports and safety documentation.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and adherence to schedules.
• Monitor and control project budgets, manage cost variations and prepare financial reports for stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety and environmental regulations and implement corrective actions.
• Perform quality assurance inspections on structural elements and concrete/steel work.
• Liaise with clients, architects and authorities to address site issues and obtain approvals.
• Manage site resources including equipment, labour and materials to optimise efficiency.
• Prepare and maintain As-Built documentation and final completion reports.
• Mentor junior site engineers and staff for continuous improvement.

As Senior Site Engineer, you will play a critical leadership role in overseeing construction site operations, ensuring projects are executed to the highest standards of quality, safety and efficiency. This position is integral to delivering successful project outcomes and maintaining our reputation for excellence in civil and structural engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, architectural and engineering drawings, and contractual requirements
• Conduct daily site inspections and maintain comprehensive site records, including progress reports, inspection logs and safety documentation
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and adherence to project schedules
• Monitor and control project budgets, manage cost variations and prepare financial reports for project stakeholders
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety and environmental (HSE) regulations, conducting toolbox talks and implementing corrective actions as needed
• Perform quality assurance inspections on structural elements, concrete works, steel installations and other critical components
• Liaise with clients, architects, consulting engineers and relevant authorities to address site issues and obtain necessary approvals
• Manage site resources including equipment, labour and materials to optimise project efficiency
• Prepare and maintain As-Built documentation, photographs and final completion reports
• Mentor junior site engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related discipline from a recognised institution
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration or equivalent certification in Malaysia is highly desirable
• Minimum 8 years of hands-on site engineering experience in civil and structural construction projects
• Proven track record in managing medium to large-scale construction projects from commencement through to completion
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian building codes, standards (MS 1628, SS 506) and regulatory requirements
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings, specifications and technical documents
• Excellent understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing and project scheduling
• Demonstrated expertise in quality control, defect management and rectification procedures
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage diverse teams and stakeholders effectively
• Sound knowledge of occupational safety and health practices in construction environments
• Proficiency in using site management software, CAD applications and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Malay language is advantageous
• Willingness to work on-site full-time and undertake occasional site visits to multiple project locations
