Job summary

DEPEND, a hybrid electronic component distributor based in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a Senior Sales to lead customer development and drive sales growth across the Malaysian market. The role focuses on building relationships with OEMs, ODMs, EMS/CEMs and distributors, and managing the full B2B sales cycle.

You will identify opportunities in semiconductors and electronic components, promote hard-to-find parts, and work with sourcing and procurement teams to deliver supply solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant sales/business development experience in the semiconductor or electronic components industry.
• Industry experience mandatory in electronic components distribution, trading, or related B2B sectors.
• Strong command of English; Mandarin or Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage.
• Based in Penang and willing to travel within Malaysia.
• Existing relationships with OEM/ODM/EMS/CEM or distributors in Malaysia are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and acquire new OEM, ODM, EMS, CEM, and electronic manufacturing customers across Malaysia.
• Identify and develop business opportunities within the semiconductor and electronic components industry.
• Build and maintain relationships with purchasing, sourcing, procurement, engineering, and supply chain teams.
• Promote and sell semiconductors, ICs, electronic components, shortage parts, obsolete components, excess inventory, and hard-to-find components.
• Manage the full sales cycle: lead generation, customer development, RFQ/inquiry handling, quotation, negotiation, order management, delivery follow-up, and payment collection.
• Develop and manage key accounts to generate repeat business and long-term relationships.
• Travel within Malaysia when required to meet customers and develop new business.

We specialize in sourcing and supplying semiconductors, ICs, electronic components, shortage components, obsolete components, excess inventory, urgent requirements, and hard-to-find parts. Through our global supplier and inventory network, we help customers secure competitive pricing and reliable access to components in a rapidly changing market.

We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Senior Sales based in Penang, Malaysia, to lead customer development and sales growth across the Malaysian market.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and acquire new OEM, ODM, EMS, CEM, and electronic manufacturing customers across Malaysia.
• Identify and develop business opportunities within the semiconductor and electronic components industry.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with purchasing, sourcing, procurement, engineering, and supply chain teams.
• Promote and sell semiconductors, ICs, electronic components, shortage parts, obsolete components, excess inventory, and hard-to-find components.
• Manage the full sales cycle, including lead generation, customer development, RFQ/inquiry handling, quotation, negotiation, order management, delivery follow-up, and payment collection.
• Develop and manage key accounts to generate repeat business and long-term customer relationships.
• Understand customer requirements and work with internal sourcing/procurement teams to identify suitable component supply solutions.
• Monitor market trends, customer demand, component availability, and competitive activities in the Malaysian market.
• Achieve agreed sales, revenue, gross profit, and business development targets.
• Maintain an active sales pipeline and provide regular sales forecasts and business updates.
• Travel within Malaysia when required to meet customers and develop new business.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 year of relevant sales/business development experience in the semiconductor or electronic components industry.
• Industry experience is mandatory. Candidates without relevant electronic components, semiconductor distribution, trading, or related industry experience will not be considered.
• Experience in electronic components distribution, independent distribution, semiconductor trading, component sourcing, or related B2B electronic component businesses.
• Existing relationships with OEM, ODM, EMS, CEM, distributors, procurement, sourcing, or purchasing teams in Malaysia will be a strong advantage.
• Solid understanding of semiconductors, ICs, electronic components, component sourcing, and the electronics supply chain.
• Proven ability to develop new customers and manage the complete B2B sales cycle.
• Strong communication, negotiation, customer development, and account management skills.
• Good command of English; additional languages such as Mandarin or Bahasa Malaysia are an advantage.
• Self-motivated, proactive, target-oriented, and comfortable working independently.
• Willingness to travel within Malaysia for customer meetings and business development.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Penang, Malaysia.
