Senior Reliability Engineer Petaling Jaya, Malaysia
The Reality of the Role
This is a critical turnaround mandate to establish control over our plant’s asset lifecycle. Your primary objective is to utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track downtime, maintenance activities, and asset performance. You will not just be analyzing data; you will be conducting root cause analysis on equipment failures and actively supervising the maintenance technicians and reliability engineers executing the work.
What You Will Accomplish
- Reliability Program Development: Develop, implement, and maintain a plant-wide program focused on improving equipment uptime and addressing high-risk, failure-prone systems.
- CMMS Ownership: Visualize and create PM programs from the start, ensuring proper tracking and implementation.
- Predictive Execution: Lead the scheduling and execution of preventive and predictive maintenance tasks using vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis.
- Failure Elimination: Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCAs) on equipment failures and monitor the effectiveness of your recommended corrective and preventive actions.
- Team Leadership: Supervise the maintenance team and provide hands-on training on best practices for equipment reliability and troubleshooting.
- Absolute Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities adhere strictly to DOSH statutory requirements and align with food safety and quality standard procedures.
What You Bring (The Non-Negotiables)
- Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years in maintenance or reliability engineering, with at least 1 to 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Technical Depth: Strong knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems, coupled with hands-on experience using reliability tools such as RCA, FMEA, TPM, and CMMS.
- Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Cross-Functional Agility: The ability to work closely with Production, QA, and Engineering teams to recommend design changes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Safety & Compliance: A sound understanding of industrial safety practices and compliance standards.
