Job summary

Jobstreet Malaysia is seeking a Maintenance & Reliability Leadership professional in Lumut to own the CMMS, lead mechanical maintenance and reliability programs, and manage a technical team across industrial operations.

You will oversee budgets, vendor relationships and safety/regulatory compliance while driving TPM/RCM concepts and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10–12 years in industrial/manufacturing maintenance with 3+ years in leadership.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, rotating equipment, and ACMV.
• Hands-on CMMS experience with SAP, Maximo, MP2, Maintenance Connection or similar.

Responsibilities

• Act as CMMS owner for asset registration, maintenance scheduling and data logging.
• Analyze history and MTBF/MTTR metrics to improve maintenance strategies.
• Develop, implement, and monitor PM and PdM programs to minimize breakdowns.
• Lead troubleshooting for complex mechanical failures including rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyors.
• Plan weekly, monthly and annual maintenance shutdowns with minimal production disruption.
• Coordinate plant shutdowns, major overhauls, and CAPEX projects.
• Lead, mentor and train contract farmers and farm teams in maintenance and reliability.
• Develop and manage annual maintenance OPEX budget and track expenses.
• Manage external contractors and vendors ensuring SLA compliance.
• Support DOSH and environmental regulatory compliance.

Job description

This is a Maintenance & Reliability Leadership role responsible for owning and optimizing the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), leading mechanical maintenance and reliability programs, managing a technical team, overseeing budgets and vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards across industrial/manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

Act as the primary owner for the CMMS, ensuring accurate asset registration, maintenance scheduling, and historical data logging

Analyze equipment history, failure data, and MTBF/MTTR metrics to improve maintenance strategies

Develop, implement, and monitor Preventive (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) programs to minimize breakdowns

Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex mechanical failures, including rotating equipment, hydraulic systems, pneumatics, and conveyors

Plan and coordinate weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance shutdowns to ensure minimal disruption to production

Coordinate plant shutdowns, major overhauls, and capital projects (CAPEX) to ensure timely, high-quality completion

Lead, mentor and provide training to contract farmers and own farm teams in Maintenance and Reliability

Develop and manage the annual maintenance budget (OPEX) and track expenses

Manage external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance work, ensuring SLA compliance

Support compliance with Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) and environmental regulations

About you

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field

Minimum 10-12 years of experience in industrial/manufacturing maintenance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role

Deep understanding of industrial mechanical systems (hydraulics, pneumatics, rotating equipment, ACMV) and facility maintenance

Hands-on experience with CMMS software (e.g., SAP, Maximo, MP2, Maintenance Connection, MOM-EM Manufacturing Operations Management - Equipment Management Module)

Strong knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA), lock-out/tag-out procedures, and risk management

Proven ability to motivate, lead, and develop a technical team

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing stakeholder communication under pressure

Experience in a process-driven industry (e.g., food, automotive) preferred

Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) or Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) preferred

PMP or similar project management certification preferred
