Job summary

RHB Group in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is seeking a capable compliance professional to lead annual reviews across our nationwide branches. You will assess health checks, perform gap analyses on regulatory updates, and work with management to address issues identified during reviews, including escalation and remediation planning.

The role requires staying current with regulator trends, reporting to the Board, and guiding a team to ensure timely, effective actions and robust governance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform annual compliance reviews across 208 branches nationwide.
• Conduct health checks for business/functional areas across the bank.
• Perform gap assessments on new/revised regulatory requirements.
• Identify and monitor emerging regulatory risk across sectors.
• Track new regulations issued and implemented by regulators within the past year.
• Review past incidences/non-compliances.
• Keep abreast with latest regulatory updates, trends and best practices.
• Collaborate with management to evaluate compliance issues identified during reviews.
• Conduct exit meetings to articulate compliance issues.
• Work with BCOs/BRCOs to develop corrective action plans for resolution of compliance issues.
• Monitor the performance of the annual compliance review plan and accommodate ad-hoc regulator requests.
• Ensure reporting of non-compliances or potential non-compliances to Board and Management.
• Provide reports on a regular basis to keep Board and Management informed of compliance issues.
• Manage team members within the team, coaching and resolving escalated issues.
