Job summary

Kawan Food Berhad invites a Senior R&D Executive to drive value-added meat/seafood product development. You will lead lab work, prototype development, and cross-functional collaboration to meet customers' specifications and timelines.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in R&D projects including research, product innovation, and development to meet specs and timelines.
• Conduct lab work and analytical testing; interpret data and troubleshoot line/process issues.
• Develop prototypes and trial samples; monitor production runs and provide recommendations.
• Provide data-driven recommendations and solutions for assigned projects.
• Source and develop alternative raw materials for cost-saving and contingency.
• Prepare SOPs and train production/QC teams during trials.
• Support production and other teams in product/process improvements.
• Maintain and update documentation for regulatory/certification requirements.

Job description

SENIOR R&D EXECUTIVE: VALUE-ADDED MEAT/SEAFOOD PRODUCTS

1. To assist in implementation of R&D projects such as researches, product innovation and product development to ensure manufactured food products meet customers’ specifications and within the provided timeline.

2. To conduct lab work and analytical testing, interpret data and provide reliable results and troubleshoot problems related to line process, product quality and formula improvement.

3. To work with cross functional team in the development of prototypes (kitchen and trial samples) for customers evaluation, conduct trial plan, monitor actual production run and provide recommendations when problems arise with analyzed data.

4. To provide recommendations and solutions on the assigned projects based on data, test results and feedback from inter-departments.

5. To source and develop alternative raw materials from different suppliers for cost saving and contingency purpose.

6. Prepare SOP and conduct training to production and QC team for new product during trial production run.

7. Assist production & other support team in product or process improvement projects.

8. To prepare, maintain and update all documents related to the assigned projects based on required regulatory or certification bodies’ requirements

9. To carry out other duties and tasks as directed by the Management in line with competencies and activities associated with any of the above processes.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor Degree or higher, preferably in food science / Technology related course.

2. Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience in new product development or similar role is required.

3. Experience in the development of meat and seafood processing and value-added protein products such as burger patties, chicken nuggets, formed meat products, ready-to-cook products or similar categories.

4. Computer literate and good knowledge in Microsoft words and Excel.

5. Excellent communication (oral and written).

6. Self-motivated, flexible, able to work independently and with good attitude.

7. Creative, innovative and keep abreast of current new trend.

8. Must be willing to based in Pulau Indah.
