Job summary

Kawan Food Berhad is seeking a Production Shift Executive to ensure quality, safety and hygiene on the production floor. The role includes training supervisors and line leaders, implementing procedures, and driving actions to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

The candidate should have 1-2 years on a production line, or fresh graduates with a relevant degree, and strong leadership and communication skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment in Klang.

Responsibilities

• Ensure food quality, safety and hygiene on the production floor.
• Train production staff including supervisors and line leaders.
• Implement production procedures and maintain documentation.
• Drive corrective and preventive actions as needed.
• Control and optimize production lines to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with QA, Maintenance, Inventory, R&D and Purchasing to meet product needs.
• Lead cross-functional teams to improve quality, safety and process.
• Collaborate with R&D to support new product launches and trials.

Job description

Production Shift Executive (Fresh Graduates Encouraged to Apply)

Responsible to ensure that food quality, safety and hygiene are in place in production floor.

Responsible on training for all production division personnel, e.g. supervisors, assistant supervisors & line leaders.

Responsible in regards to implementation of production procedure and documentation.

Implement various corrective action or preventive action highlighted from time to time.

Responsible for overall process control i.e. from trouble shooting/hygiene and sanitation of overall sections (manpower, machinery, materials and environment; 3M 1E) in order to support food quality, safety and hygiene.

Plan and prioritize products efficiently and effectively to ensure production are on time without compromising on quality.

Liaise with other departments to analyze and minimize on downtime possibilities and initiates projects to minimize waste and other cost savings initiatives.

Plan and monitor all production lines to maximize it to the optimum level.

Coach, mentor and train team members and build team spirit through team building activities to drive team performance.

Conduct performance review with subordinates to assure departmental directions and objectives are met.

Monitor employee’s overtime cost, consumables and other production related expenses.

Monitor production processes to be in line with organization budget.

Liaise with QA, Maintenance, Inventory, R&D & Purchasing to understand their current and future product needs and develop plans, cost estimates and schedules to integrate into manufacturing activities.

Lead cross functional focus team to improve on quality, food safety and process.

Work with R&D to launch new product, conduct trials for quality improvement.

Promote safety through work procedures, environments and employee safety programs.

Drive and support food safety enhancement initiatives.

Work closely with managers to support the company’s goals and objectives.

Work closely with Sanitation team on processing line cleanliness and food safety related area.

Control and develop all aspect for processing to improve method and technique of processing.

To undertake other responsibilities pertaining to food safety and quality as and when assigned from time to time.

Requirements

At least 1-2 years of experience in Production line. Experience in Food Manufacturing would be an advantage.
