Job summary

KOM Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd, a precast concrete manufacturer and supplier, seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a focus on precast elements. You will handle cost estimates, budgets, take-offs, valuations, tendering, and contract administration, working closely with project managers and clients in Kuala Lumpur.

The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, detail orientation, and 2–5 years in QS.

Qualifications

• Proactive quantity surveyor with strong analytical and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and eager to learn in a team environment.
• 2-5 years’ experience in quantity surveying or a related role (preferred).
• Based in Simpang Renggam and Sunway Velocity, Kuala Lumpur.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts from drawings and specs.
• Do quantity take-offs, valuations, and cost analyses for precast elements.
• Monitor costs, identify variances, and propose corrective actions with PMs.
• Lead tender documentation, evaluate subcontractor quotations, negotiate rates.
• Manage contract administration, variations, and project documentation.
• Prepare interim and final payment valuations and ensure timely approvals.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect cost and schedule.
• Conduct site and yard visits to monitor progress, quality, and compliance.
• Compile cost performance, forecasting, and financial status reports for management and client.
• Serve as primary cost/contact for clients on cost documentation and commercial matters.
• Mentor junior QS staff on best practices and procedures.

Senior Quantity Surveyor (Precast Focus)

Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts using technical drawings and project specifications.

Conduct quantity take-offs, valuations, and cost analysis for precast elements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Monitor project costs, identify variances, and implement corrective actions in collaboration with project managers.

Lead the preparation of tender documents, evaluate subcontractor quotations, and negotiate rates to ensure cost efficiency.

Manage contract administration, variations, and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

Prepare interim and final payment valuations and ensure timely approvals.

Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize cost and schedule impacts.

Conduct regular site and yard visits to monitor project progress, quality, and compliance with specifications.

Compile detailed reports on cost performance, forecasting, and financial status for management and client review.

Act as a key point of contact for clients regarding project costs, documentation, and commercial matters.

Mentor junior QS staff and provide guidance on best practices and procedures.

Requirements:
