Job summary

INGENIIS SDN BHD is seeking an experienced Site Quantity Surveyor in Kuantan, Malaysia to manage cost, budgeting and commercial aspects of construction projects from tender to completion.

You will have 5–8 years of relevant site experience, a degree in Quantity Surveying or construction management, and a proven track record in cost control, tendering, contractor payments and final accounts.

Qualifications

• Graduated Degree in Quantity Surveying, construction management or a related field.
• 5-8 years minimum working experience as Site Quantity Surveyor or in construction.
• Proven experience in cost management, tendering and contract administration.

Responsibilities

• Cost & Commercial Management: manage project cost from tender to completion.
• Tendering & Pricing: lead tender pricing, evaluate bids and supplier quotes.
• Project & Contract Management: monitor financial performance and ensure contract compliance.
• Reporting & Management: present cost reports, cash flow and risks to management.
• Site Coordination: liaise with project team and contractors on site progress.

• Graduated Degree in Quantity Surveying, construction management or a related field.
• 5 - 8 years minimum working experience as Site Quantity surveyor, Construction or any related field.

Job Role/Responsibilities:

1. Cost & Commercial Management

• Manage overall project cost and budget from tender stage until project completion.
• Prepare cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BQ), cost plans and budget forecasts.
• Monitor project expenditure and identify potential cost overruns.
• Manage Variation Orders (VO), claims, subcontractor payments and final accounts.
• Review and verify progress claims from subcontractors and suppliers.

2. Tendering & Pricing

• Lead the preparation of tender pricing and commercial proposals.
• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications and BQ.
• Obtain and analyse quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare detailed cost comparisons and recommend suitable rates.
• Ensure tender pricing is accurate, competitive and commercially viable.

3. Project & Contract Management

• Monitor project financial performance and commercial matters.
• Liaise with Project Manager, Site Team, consultants, clients and subcontractors.
• Review contractual requirements and ensure compliance with contract conditions.
• Assist in resolving contractual and commercial issues.
• Monitor project progress against budget and contract value.

4. Reporting & Management

• Prepare monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts and commercial reports for Management.
• Provide regular updates on project cost, claims, VO and potential risks.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering.
• Supervise and guide Quantity Surveyors and junior QS staff.
• Review work prepared by QS team to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Mentor junior staff in tendering, costing, claims and contract administration.

6. Site Coordination

• Liaise with project managers, engineers, and contractors
• Conduct site visits to verify progress and measurements
• Ensure work is in line with contract specifications
