Job summary

Seri Pajam Development Sdn Bhd is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies. The role involves preparing Bills of Quantities, evaluating subcontractor quotations, and driving cost optimization throughout the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has a Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying with 5–7 years’ relevant experience, proficiency in Excel, AutoCAD, and Glodon, and strong negotiation and analytical skills. Mandarin language is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• Immediate availability to join is highly preferred.
• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant working experience, preferably in property development or contracting.
• Strong technical knowledge in construction materials, pricing, and built-up rates.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and Glodon (Cubicost).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Able to work independently, under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
• Able to speak Mandarin is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary cost estimates, project budgets, and feasibility studies to support early decision-making.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ) and related documents for RFQ purposes.
• Source and evaluate subcontractor quotations, conduct comparative analyses, and provide recommendations for award.
• Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction phase to ensure alignment with the approved budget.
• Prepare and submit Main Contractor's progress claims, variation orders (VO), and extension of time (EOT) applications to consultants/developers.
• Verify and certify subcontractor claims, including interim payments and variation orders.
• Track site progress and maintain cost monitoring reports to identify potential overrun budget.
• Administer and evaluate monthly claims, ensuring accurate documentation and timely payments.
• Finalize and settle final accounts with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Collaborate with the project team to identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficient resource planning.
