Job summary

Talent Trader Group Pte Ltd in Malaysia seeks a seasoned Purchasing Leader to drive strategic sourcing and procurement for metal parts, stamping, machining, electrical components, hardware and other production materials across local and overseas suppliers. You will analyse market conditions, identify opportunities, and align supplier capabilities with production needs.

As head of the Purchasing team, you will lead work allocation, performance management, and staff development, negotiate pricing

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing/procurement, with strong hands-on experience in sourcing and supplier development.
• Strong experience sourcing metal materials, sheet metal, stamping, machining, electrical components, hardware, or other manufacturing-related materials.
• Proven experience in supplier sourcing, quotation comparison, cost analysis, price negotiation, and supplier evaluation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with ERP/MRP systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing and purchasing activities for sheet metal, stamping, machining, electrical components, raw materials, hardware, and other production materials.
• Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop local and overseas suppliers based on cost, quality, capacity, and delivery performance.
• Conduct market research and supplier benchmarking to identify cost-saving and alternative sourcing opportunities.
• Negotiate pricing, contract and payment terms with suppliers.
• Develop and maintain a reliable supplier base to support production requirements and business growth.
• Review material requirements, purchase requisitions, and supplier quotations to support effective purchasing decisions.
• Lead and develop the Purchasing team, including work allocation, performance management, and staff development.
• Prepare procurement reports and monitor KPIs such as cost savings, supplier performance, on-time delivery, and material availability.
