Bakels Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement function, overseeing sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiations, and cost optimization.

The role collaborates with Demand Planning, Production, QA, NPD, and Finance to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply chain. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 5 years of manufacturing procurement experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of purchasing/procurement experience in manufacturing.
• Strong negotiation, supplier management and commercial skills.
• Experience in sourcing, contract management and import procurement.

Responsibilities

• Lead purchasing for raw materials, packaging, indirect materials, and services.
• Develop sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and supply continuity.
• Manage supplier relationships, evaluations, and contract negotiations.
• Coordinate local and import procurement to ensure material availability.
• Identify cost-saving and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor market trends and supply risks to support strategic decisions.
• Support NPD and business growth through effective supplier sourcing and planning.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
