Job summary

EDMI Electronics Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a seasoned procurement professional to lead strategic sourcing, purchasing, materials coordination, and cost management to support manufacturing operations and supply continuity.

The role includes supplier qualification, negotiation, end-to-end purchasing, inventory planning, and cost management, with emphasis on ISO compliance and governance. A degree or diploma with 5–8 years' experience in manufacturing procurement is required.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• 5–8 years procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in strategic sourcing, supplier qualification, evaluation, selection, performance management, and negotiations.
• Knowledge of PO management, supplier coordination, inventory control, delivery scheduling, and cost analysis.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; SAP procurement experience an added advantage.
• Knowledge of ISO standards, procurement policies, audit requirements, and governance practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage sourcing, procurement, tender activities, and supplier negotiations for IDM and assigned commodities to achieve cost savings, value creation, and supply continuity
• Oversee supplier qualification, evaluation, performance management, and relationship development, including quality, delivery, compliance, and corrective actions
• Manage end-to-end purchasing and materials planning activities, including MRP review, PO administration, delivery scheduling, inventory control, spare parts procurement, and demand fulfilment
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to resolve supply, quality, logistics, invoice, payment, and operational issues to ensure business continuity
• Monitor and mitigate supply chain, inventory, cost, and operational risks, including excess inventory exposure resulting from demand changes, ECNs, and EOL activities
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards, company policies, audit requirements, and regulatory obligations, while maintaining accurate procurement records and documentation
• Prepare management reports, support continuous improvement initiatives, and provide guidance to junior procurement staff as required
• Perform ad-hoc tasks, assignments, and projects as assigned by management

Job description

This position is responsible for strategic sourcing, procurement, purchasing, materials coordination, inventory management, and cost management of goods and services to support EESB business operations and supply continuity.

Key responsibilities

Manage sourcing, procurement, tender activities, and supplier negotiations for IDM and assigned commodities to achieve cost savings, value creation, and supply continuity

About you

Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Engineering, or a related field

Minimum 5–8 years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment

Proven experience in strategic sourcing, supplier qualification, evaluation, selection, performance management, and commercial negotiations

Knowledge of PO management, supplier coordination, inventory control, delivery scheduling, and cost analysis

Strong negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools

SAP procurement experience is an added advantage

Knowledge of ISO standards, procurement policies, audit requirements, and governance practices is an added advantage
