Job summary

CIMB in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager, Digital Applications Delivery to lead end-to-end IT and digital initiatives across Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid delivery models. You will develop project plans, manage budgets, coordinate stakeholders and vendors, and ensure delivery excellence in line with CIMB's technology strategy and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related discipline.
• PMP/PRINCE2 certification is mandatory or strong advantage.
• CSM/SAFe/Agile certification required.
• ITIL knowledge is a plus.
• 6–10+ years of IT project management or digital delivery experience.
• Experience delivering complex digital transformation projects.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager, Digital Applications Delivery to support technology initiatives and projects within Group Commercial Banking.

In this role, you will lead and deliver end-to-end IT and digital projects across Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid methodologies, ensuring alignment with business objectives, governance standards, and technology strategy. The role is accountable for project planning, execution, financial management, stakeholders engagement, and delivery outcomes while driving continuous improvement and delivery excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Delivery & Execution

• Lead end-to-end delivery of digital and IT projects (e.g. internet banking, mobile applications, enterprise systems).
• Develop and manage project plans, scope, timelines, and deliverables across Waterfall, Agile, or Hybrid frameworks.
• Ensure alignment with business requirements, architecture standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial tracking.
• Oversee execution across the SDLC lifecycle from initiation to closure

Stakeholder & Communication Management

• Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, and leadership.
• Drive stakeholder alignment on scope, priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
• Facilitate workshops, requirement discussions, and decision-making forums.
• Manage escalations proactively and ensure timely resolution.
• Provide clear communication on project progress, risks, and impacts.
• Plan and manage resource allocation across cross-functional teams.
• Manage third-party vendors and delivery partners including performance tracking and contract adherence.
• Ensure optimal utilization of resources and capability alignment.
• Align project delivery with strategic roadmap and portfolio priorities.
• Support demand prioritization, business case validation, and planning activities.
• Ensure projects contribute to overall business and technology objectives.
• Track KPIs, delivery metrics, and performance indicators across projects.
• Use tools (JIRA, ServiceNow, MS Project, etc.) for project tracking and reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in delivery practices and processes.
• Maintain documentation and audit trail in compliance with governance standards.

Project Governance

• Track project milestones, timelines, and deliverables to ensure alignment with the project plan.
• Prepare and maintain regular project status reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.
• Monitor and follow up on project risks, issues, and dependencies (RAID log).
• Drive reporting cadence and ensure timely submission of dashboards and project updates to stakeholders and leadership.

PMO Support & Governance

• Ensure adherence to PMO standards, governance frameworks, and reporting requirements.
• Support audit, compliance, and documentation requirements.
• Contribute to standardization and improvement of PMO processes and tools.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related disciplines.
• PMP / PRINCE2 (mandatory or strong advantage)
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe, or Agile certification
• ITIL knowledge is a plus
• Preference with project experience in internet banking or mobile applications or digital delivery projects.
• 6 –10+ years of experience in IT project management or digital delivery.
• Proven track record delivering complex digital transformation, mobile, or internet banking projects.
• Hands-on experience managing projects across Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies.
• Strong experience in: Full SDLC delivery; Project governance and reporting; Budget and financial management.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams across business and technology domains.
• Familiarity with enterprise tools such as JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, MS Project, or PPM tools.
• Experience presenting to senior management and steering committees.
