Job summary

Appen is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager in Kuala Lumpur to lead multiple business lines within its data annotation and content moderation domain. The role requires managing large teams, delivering high-quality results, and coordinating with clients and internal stakeholders.

You will oversee onboarding, process optimization, risk control, and cross-functional collaboration with HR, QA, and Training to ensure smooth operations from day one.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above; 8+ years in project management, with at least 3 years in BPO / data annotation / content moderation.
• Must have hands-on project delivery experience, review standards, workflows, tools, and quality expectations.
• Candidates from TikTok, ByteDance, Teleperformance, Concentrix, TaskUs, Appen, or similar are strongly preferred.
• Proven track record managing 100+ FTEs or multiple business lines.
• Strong skills in resource planning, performance management, and team motivation.
• Fluent in Chinese and English – able to use both as working languages; excellent reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Interface with project stakeholders, manage expectations, and deliver bilingual weekly/monthly/QBR reports.
• Rapid onboarding and delivery: master platform rules, review standards, and drive delivery to target.
• Build, train, and manage teams; oversee performance and cross-project resource allocation.
• Identify bottlenecks, drive SOP standardisation and automation, flag risks with contingency plans.
• Work with HR, QA, Training, and WFM to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Line Leadership

Act as the first owner of assigned business lines, managing delivery, quality, productivity, and team stability.

2. Client Management & Reporting

Interface directly with project stakeholders, manage expectations, and deliver high-quality bilingual reporting (weekly/monthly/QBR) covering progress, risks, and improvement plans.

3. Rapid Onboarding & Delivery

Quickly master platform rules, review standards, tools, and workflows. Take over the team and drive delivery to target shortly after joining.

4. Team & Resource Management

Build, train, and manage teams; oversee performance and cross-project resource allocation to continuously improve efficiency and quality.

5. Process Optimisation & Risk Control

Identify delivery bottlenecks, drive SOP standardisation and automation, and proactively flag risks with contingency plans.

6. Cross-functional Collaboration

Work closely with HR, QA, Training, and WFM to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements
