Job summary

INNOQUEST TECHNOLOGIES SDN. BHD. in Ipoh seeks an experienced Operations Team Leader to oversee the daily delivery of our AI Data Operations team.

You will supervise a group of AI Data Specialists responsible for data annotation, labeling, quality assurance and other data processing tasks supporting AI/ML projects. The role is hands-on and targeted, with responsibilities for staffing, productivity, quality, coaching and timely project delivery, while collaborating with our China HQ to align

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 to 3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Experience managing a team of 10+ employees.
• Experience in BPO operations, Shared Services Centre, Customer Operations, Content Moderation, Data Processing, Quality Assurance or Quality Control, high-volume production operations.
• Proficiency in English, Chinese and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of AI Data Specialists (approximately 10 to 30).
• Manage daily operations including attendance, manpower allocation, shift planning and workstation deployment.
• Set and monitor daily productivity targets based on weekly and monthly project requirements.
• Track individual and team performance and identify operational bottlenecks.
• Ensure projects are delivered according to agreed timelines and productivity targets.
• Conduct quality audits, spot checks and error analysis to maintain high accuracy standards.
• Investigate recurring quality issues and provide coaching or retraining where required.
• Interpret project guidelines, annotation standards and SOPs provided by HQ.
• Conduct onboarding, daily briefings, refresher training and team calibration sessions.
• Prepare daily operational reports covering productivity, quality performance, errors and project progress.

We are looking for an experienced Operations Team Leader to manage the day to day delivery of our AI Data Operations team in Ipoh. You will lead a team of AI Data Specialists responsible for data annotation, labeling, quality assurance and other data processing activities supporting artificial intelligence and machine learning projects. The role is highly operational and hands on. You will be responsible for team performance, daily productivity, quality standards, staff coaching, workforce allocation and timely project delivery. You will also work closely with our China HQ teams to understand technical guidelines, implement operating procedures and ensure that project requirements are communicated effectively to the local operations team.

Key responsibilities

About you

• Minimum 2 to 3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience
• Experience directly managing a team, preferably 10 employees or more
• Experience in one or more of the following environments: BPO operations, Shared Services Centre, Customer Operations, Content Moderation, Data Processing, Quality Assurance or Quality Control, High volume production operations
• Strong people management and coaching abilities
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Able to manage productivity targets, deadlines and operational KPIs
• Comfortable working in a structured, process driven environment
• Strong problem solving skills and ability to handle operational issues independently
• Good computer literacy and ability to learn new systems quickly
• Ability to communicate with China HQ
• Professional proficiency in English, Chinese and Bahasa Malaysia
