Job summary

KUMPULAN LEBAR DAUN is seeking an experienced construction oversight professional to coordinate day-to-day site operations across multiple projects. You will liaise with contractors, consultants and engineers to ensure timely execution while upholding quality, safety and regulatory standards.

The role requires deep knowledge of drawings, schedules and budgets, with travel to sites as needed and a focus on delivering safe, compliant and efficient facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building Technology, Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• 5–7 years of relevant construction/building experience.
• Experience overseeing buildings and facilities, including maintenance, safety compliance and contractor management.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and construction drawings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and monitor day-to-day construction activities and site operations to ensure projects progress according to plans and schedules.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors, subcontractors, consultants, engineers and site personnel to ensure effective execution of works.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, architectural plans, structural drawings, technical specifications and other project documents.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, workmanship, material usage and compliance with specifications.
• Monitor project schedules, milestones and progress, identifying delays and recommending corrective measures.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, material procurement and resource utilisation to ensure cost-effective execution.
• Ensure compliance with building regulations, technical standards, contractual requirements and safety and health requirements.
• Identify, assess and resolve technical issues and site-related challenges with consultants and contractors.
• Attend project meetings and provide regular progress reports to Management.
• Monitor project completion, including inspection, defect rectification, testing and handover.

Job description

To oversee, coordinate and monitor construction projects from commencement to completion, ensuring effective project execution in accordance with approved plans, specifications, timelines, budget, quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and monitor day-to-day construction activities and site operations to ensure projects progress according to approved plans and schedules.

Coordinate and supervise contractors, subcontractors, consultants, engineers and site personnel to ensure effective execution of construction works.

Review and interpret construction drawings, architectural plans, structural drawings, technical specifications and other project documents.

Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress, workmanship, material usage and compliance with approved specifications.

Monitor project schedules, milestones and overall progress, identifying potential delays and recommending corrective measures.

Monitor project costs, budgets, material procurement and resource utilisation to ensure cost-effective project execution.

Ensure construction works comply with relevant building regulations, technical standards, contractual requirements and occupational safety and health requirements.

Identify, assess and resolve technical issues, construction defects and site-related challenges in coordination with relevant consultants and contractors.

Attend project meetings, coordinate site discussions and provide regular progress reports and updates to Management.

Monitor project completion, including inspection, defect rectification, testing and commissioning, and final handover of completed projects.

Liaise with relevant local authorities, consultants and other stakeholders on construction approvals, inspections and compliance matters.

Oversee building facilities maintenance, including preventive and corrective maintenance of building structures, M&E systems and related facilities.

Coordinate and monitor maintenance contractors and service providers to ensure timely repairs, proper maintenance and compliance with safety requirements.

Monitor facilities conditions, maintenance schedules and repair costs to ensure the Company's buildings and facilities remain safe, functional and well-maintained.

Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Management from time to time.

Qualification and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building Technology, Quantity Surveying or other related disciplines.

Minimum 5-7 years of relevant working experience in the construction, building or property development industry.

Experienced in managing and overseeing the overall operations and performance of buildings and facilities, including facilities services, space management, asset management, contractor management, budget control, safety compliance and operational efficiency to ensure a safe, comfortable, functional and conducive working environment.

Experienced in managing and supervising building maintenance activities, including building inspections, defect management, preventive and corrective maintenance, and the upkeep of building structures, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and fire protection systems to ensure asset reliability, safety and operational performance.

Good knowledge of building construction, structural works, civil works and construction methods.

Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and construction drawings. Familiarity with construction project planning, scheduling, cost control and quality management.

Knowledge of relevant Malaysian building regulations, construction standards and occupational safety and health requirements.

Able to work independently and manage multiple construction projects.

Willing to travel and conduct regular site visits.

Possess a valid driving licence and own transport.
