Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related discipline.
• Minimum 10–15 years in construction/related industry with 5+ years in senior management.
• Proven track record in managing multiple projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of CIDB requirements and Malaysian industry practices.
• Experience with ISO 9001:2015 and quality improvement.

Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced, strategic, and results-driven General Manager to lead our construction operations and drive business growth. The successful candidate will oversee overall project delivery, commercial performance, operational efficiency, quality management, and business development to ensure the company achieves its strategic objectives while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

Develop and implement business strategies, operational plans, and annual budgets in line with the company's objectives

Lead the overall management of construction operations, projects, resources, and business performance

Identify new business opportunities, develop client relationships, and support tender and business development activities

Report business performance, operational risks, and strategic recommendations to the Managing Director or Board of Directors

Oversee multiple construction projects from planning and mobilisation through completion and handover

Monitor project progress, productivity, manpower, procurement, subcontractors, and resource allocation

Ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets, timelines, quality standards, and contractual requirements

Provide direction and support to Project Managers, Contract Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, and other project personnel

Oversee contract administration, tender submissions, cost control, cash flow, variation orders, Extension of Time claims, and final accounts

Ensure effective coordination between project, contract, procurement, and finance teams

Prepare and monitor annual operating budgets, project budgets, and financial forecasts

Ensure effective utilization of manpower, equipment, materials, and other company resources

Ensure compliance with the company's ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) and promote continuous improvement

Monitor quality assurance, quality control, inspections, audits, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions

Ensure compliance with CIDB requirements, applicable Malaysian construction laws, and occupational safety and health regulations

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline

Minimum 10–15 years of relevant construction industry or property development experience , with at least 5 years in a senior management role

Proven experience managing multiple construction projects and leading multidisciplinary teams

Strong knowledge of construction operations, project management, contract administration, commercial management, and cost control

Good understanding of CIDB requirements, Malaysian construction industry practices, and applicable regulations

Experience with ISO 9001:2015 implementation, quality audits, and continuous improvement

Strong financial management, strategic planning, negotiation, leadership, and decision-making skills

Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities

Demonstrated ability to improve project performance, manage risks, and achieve business targets
