Job summary

Businesslist is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to oversee site execution for mechanical or electrical distribution systems in Selangor. You will coordinate with clients, consultants, and sub-contractors, ensuring adherence to specifications and safety requirements.

The role involves managing procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover activities, with responsibility for progress claims, RFIs, and design reviews. Fluent English and Bahasa Malaysia are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in a similar role with project engineering or site construction experience.
• Experience with HVAC, cleanroom, or process utility systems is preferred.
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken).
• MS PowerPoint and MS Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Work with project team on procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
• Manage project execution at site for mechanical or electrical distribution systems.
• Ensure works meet approved specifications, procedures and requirements.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, sub-contractors and authorities to resolve issues.
• Coordinate with sub-contractors for site surveys and space management.
• Prepare interim progress claims and monitor payments; manage variations.
• Attend SMBWA, toolbox and design review meetings as required.
• Update As-Built drawings and prepare handover documents.
• Prepare RFIs on changes to specifications and present technical proposals.

Job Scope:

• Work with project team and involved in procurement, construction, commissioning etc.
• Manage project execution at site for Mechanical or Electrical distribution system, HVAC, cleanroom, process utility system etc.
• Ensure works are executed in accordance with approved specifications, procedures and requirements.
• Liaise with client, consultant, sub-contractor, and relevant authorities to resolve technical issues.
• Coordinate with sub-contractors for site survey, space management, site activities.
• Perform interim progress claims, monitor progress payments and determine variation orders.
• Attend SMBWA, toolbox meeting and design review meeting if required.
• Update As-Built drawing and prepare handover documents.
• Prepare Request for Information (RFI) on changes of specification.
• Prepare technical presentation to clients.

Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5 years in similar post with work experience in engineering or building and construction works, HVAC, cleanroom, process utility system.
• Good knowledge in projects management in industrial projects. Technical knowledge required to deal with daily job tasks.
• Good in English and Bahasa Malaysia both in writing and communication.
• Computer literate and proficient in Ms. PowerPoint and Ms. Excel.
• Able to work with tight schedule.
