Job summary

Schindler Malaysia is seeking a Project Engineer to lead lift and escalator projects from planning to completion. You will coordinate with clients, main contractors, and internal teams to ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery.

Candidates with 5+ years in project management and knowledge of JKKP requirements are preferred; Senior roles may be considered for extensive experience. Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, coordination, or site management within lift & escalator.
• Knowledge of project planning, site coordination, contract administration, and progress claims.
• Familiarity with JKKP requirements and lift & escalator installation standards.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• PE/PME or equivalent certification is an added advantage.

• Manage and coordinate lift and escalator projects from initiation to completion.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor progress, resources, and site activities to meet specifications and schedules.
• Prepare and manage project documentation including progress claims and reports.
• Coordinate authority inspections and ensure timely certifications and payments.
• Ensure safety, quality, and environmental standards across sites.
• Support project performance and customer satisfaction throughout the lifecycle.

Join our team as a Project Engineer and play a key role in delivering lift and escalator projects from planning to completion. You will be responsible for project coordination, site execution, contract administration, stakeholder management, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to quality standards. Candidates with extensive relevant experience may be considered for a Senior Project Engineer position.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate lift and escalator projects from commencement through successful completion, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, technical specifications, project schedules, and company standards.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and timely delivery.
• Monitor project progress and site activities, proactively resolving issues, coordinating manpower and resources, and conducting regular site visits to ensure works are completed according to approved specifications and quality standards.
• Prepare and manage project documentation, including progress claims, variation orders, project reports, schedules, and updates in VMS and MS Project.
• Coordinate authority inspections and statutory requirements, ensuring timely approvals, certifications, and follow-up on payment claims.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards, and monitor adherence by main contractors, subcontractors, and site personnel at all project sites.
• Support project performance and customer satisfaction by driving continuous improvement and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, project coordination, or site management preferably within the lift & escalator
• Knowledge of project planning, site coordination, contract administration, and progress claims.
• Familiarity with JKKP requirements and lift & escalator installation standards will be an added advantage.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Mechanical Engineer (PME), or equivalent certification will be an added advantage.
