VFive Construction Sdn. Bhd. invites applications for a Senior Project Director – Road & Infrastructure to lead major road/highway projects in Malaysia.
You will oversee strategic direction, manage budgets, schedules, safety, and quality, and coordinate with consultants, contractors and authorities. The role demands extensive infrastructure construction experience, leadership, and a proven track record in delivering complex projects on time and within contract terms.
The Senior Project Director will provide overall strategic and operational leadership for major road and infrastructure projects, ensuring successful delivery in accordance with contractual requirements, approved budget, project programme, quality standards, safety requirements, and client expectations. The role will have overall accountability for the project's commercial, technical, operational, contractual, safety and delivery performance, while leading Project Managers, Construction Managers, Engineering teams, consultants, contractors and other key stakeholders.
Manage and provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the road/highway project.
Take full accountability for the successful delivery of the project in terms of time, cost, quality, safety and contractual requirements.
Ensure alignment between project objectives and the company's business and commercial objectives.
Establish an effective project organisation structure and ensure appropriate allocation of resources.
Lead the development of the Master Project Programme and overall construction strategy.
Provide strategic oversight of major construction activities including site preparation and mobilisation, earthworks and excavation, soil improvement and ground treatment, road drainage and culverts.
Coordinate civil, structural, architectural, M&E, infrastructure, and external works.
Monitor site progress and resolve construction issues, technical matters, and site constraints promptly.
Coordinate closely with consultants, architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities.
Lead project meetings and ensure timely follow-up and closure of outstanding issues.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Professional qualifications such as Professional Engineer, PMP, CCM, MRICS, or equivalent will be an advantage.
Minimum 18–25 years of relevant experience in infrastructure construction and project management.
Extensive experience in managing projects from design/pre-construction through construction, testing, commissioning and final handover.
Proven experience in major infrastructure projects, such as roads and highways, bridges, drainage, water supply, utilities, rail, or other civil infrastructure works.
Strong experience in managing main contractors, subcontractors, consultants, government authorities, utility providers and multiple project stakeholders.
Good understanding of construction contracts, variation orders, claims, EOT, project documentation and contractual matters.
Strong knowledge of infrastructure construction methods, project planning, QA/QC, HSE and relevant JKR/CIDB requirements.
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, negotiation and leadership skills.
Demonstrated experience in commercial, contractual and project risk management.
