Job summary

Sonoco Products (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Senior Production Executive to monitor, control and evaluate production and safety processes to meet productivity, scrap, quality and safety targets. You will manage a team of supervisors and workers and implement production activities in line with Sonoco’s Production and Quality Manual.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma or Degree in Manufacturing Management/Engineering or the equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years relevant working and 1-year supervisory experience in manufacturing.
• Exposure to consumer packaging or FMCG is a plus.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; English and Bahasa Melayu proficiency.

Job description

As Senior Production Executive, you are responsible for monitoring, controlling and evaluation of production and safety processes to meet productivity, scrap, quality and safety targets. Managing a group of supervisors and workers, you are also responsible in implementing and follow up on all production activities as per Sonoco’s Production and Quality Manual.

Successful applicants are expected to establish a safe and healthy working environment by ensuring compliance to Sonoco’s Safety Plan and Procedure and are expected to strive for continuous improvement in all aspects of operations through problem solving, innovative thinking and effective implementation of improvement and corrective/preventive action plan.

Education/Academic background:

Minimum Diploma or Degree in Manufacturing Management/Engineering or the equivalent

Experience:

Minimum 3 years relevant working and 1-year supervisory role experience in manufacturing environment

Exposure and experience in consumer packaging or FMCG will be an added advantage

Knowledge & Skill:

Experience in daily management of production processes including production planning & control, material & inventory and manpower planning

Experience and knowledge in improving operational efficiencies through productivity gains and cost reduction programs

Have experience in troubleshooting production issues and analyzing root cause

Experience and involvement in production quality management towards achieving customer satisfaction

Knowledge of Food Safety Management System will be an added advantage

Proficient with Microsoft Office packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook

A highly motivated individual who is willing to take initiatives and follow up with details

Able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervisions

Works well in a team environment and able to work in challenging situations

Possess strong leadership skills and good organizational skill

Strong communication ability and able to communicate with all levels of people

Effective communication (both oral and written) in English and Bahasa Melayu language
