Job summary

IKD Limited in Malaysia is seeking a Production Supervisor to assist in managing daily production activities and ensure targets, schedules and delivery requirements are met.

You will coordinate production workers and group leaders, monitor progress against schedule, verify orders and ensure products meet specifications. This role requires hands-on leadership in a factory setting and collaboration with QC, Warehouse, and Packaging teams.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Production, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 1–2 years of working experience in a manufacturing environment; HPDC or precision machining exposure is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, workflow coordination, manpower allocation and production monitoring.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess production issues and coordinate practical solutions.
  • Able to work closely with Production, QC, Warehouse, Packaging and other relevant departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Willing to work in a manufacturing / factory environment and take a hands-on approach to production operations when required.
  • Proficient in WPS Office / Microsoft Office, particularly spreadsheets, and able to prepare and maintain basic production reports and records.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Production Supervisor in managing daily production activities to ensure targets, schedules and delivery requirements are achieved.
  • Coordinate and supervise production workers and group leaders to ensure smooth workflow and effective manpower allocation.
  • Monitor production progress according to the production schedule and follow up on delays or production issues promptly.
  • Review and verify production orders, drawings and relevant production requirements before and during production.
  • Ensure products are manufactured according to the correct specifications, dimensions, lengths, hole positions and processing requirements.
  • Coordinate with the QC Department to identify and resolve quality issues, non-conformities and production defects.
  • Work closely with QC, Warehouse, Packaging and other relevant departments to ensure smooth production flow and timely completion of orders.
  • Monitor production processes including die casting and other relevant processes where applicable.
  • Ensure semi-finished and finished products are properly handled, stored and transferred to the next production or packaging stage.
  • Monitor production materials, tools and equipment usage, and report any shortage, abnormality or operational issue to the Production Supervisor.
  • Assist in manpower planning and daily work allocation based on production priorities and workload.
  • Monitor workers' attendance, work discipline, productivity and compliance with company procedures.
  • Identify bottlenecks in production, including material shortages, machine issues, manpower constraints, rework and workflow interruptions, and take appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Ensure production areas are properly organised and that materials, semi-finished products and finished goods do not obstruct production or material flow.
  • Coordinate with the Packaging and Warehouse teams to ensure completed products are prepared for packing and shipment according to the required schedule.
  • Assist in checking production and packaging information, including order numbers, product quantities, pallet arrangements and other relevant details to minimise errors before shipment.
  • Prepare and maintain production records, daily production reports and other relevant documentation.
  • Report production status, delays, quality concerns and operational issues to the Production Supervisor or Management in a timely manner.
  • Assist in implementing production improvement initiatives to improve productivity, product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure workers follow company rules, production procedures and workplace safety requirements.
  • Take on increasing responsibility for production operations and team coordination as knowledge of the company's products, processes and workflow develops.
  • Perform other production-related duties assigned by the Production Supervisor or Management.

Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Production, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of working experience in a manufacturing environment. Direct exposure to High-Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) operations or precision machining is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, workflow coordination, manpower allocation and production monitoring.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to identify issues affecting production quality, efficiency and delivery.
  • Good problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, with the ability to assess production issues and coordinate practical solutions.
  • Able to work closely with Production, QC, Warehouse, Packaging and other relevant departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Good leadership and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate and supervise production workers from different backgrounds.
  • Able to take initiative, work independently and progressively assume greater responsibility for production operations.
  • Able to work under pressure and manage multiple production priorities within tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in WPS Office / Microsoft Office, particularly spreadsheets, and able to prepare and maintain basic production reports and records.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, discipline and attention to detail.
  • Willing to work in a manufacturing / factory environment and take a hands‑on approach to production operations when required.
