Job summary

Celestica Inc. in Malaysia seeks a Lead Engineer, Manufacturing Process to lead design, implementation, and continuous improvement of complex manufacturing processes for semiconductor capital equipment.

This role bridges R&D and Production to ensure high yield, efficiency, and quality. You will design new processes and tooling, lead DOE and SPC analyses, ensure manufacturability, develop test procedures, and train production staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Diploma with 6+ years of specialized experience may be considered.
• 6–8 years of experience in manufacturing engineering within semiconductor or heavy capital equipment.
• Solid knowledge of electronics, analog, power, and digital systems.
• Expertise in DOE and SPC.
• Familiarity with High Voltage and Insulation testing protocols.
• Proficiency in CAD software and tool/fixture design.
• Experience with QMS and global technical standards.
• Excellent verbal and written English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for data-driven reporting.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new manufacturing processes, application software, and tooling for complex capital equipment machines.
• Lead initiatives to improve yield, productivity, and reduce cycle times through DOE and SPC.
• Implement plans and assess machine and process capability using DOE and statistical methods for throughput and cost-efficiency.
• Lead root-cause analysis for multistage product or process failures affecting factory operations.
• Provide feedback to product designers on manufacturability (DFM) to optimize assembly from prototype stage.
• Create and manage comprehensive test procedures, assembly instructions, and implementation processes for NPI.
• Ensure all manufacturing and test equipment is calibrated, certified, and compliant with procedures and quality standards.
• Provide advanced technical training to production personnel and mentor junior process engineers.
• Occasional travel may be required.
