Job summary

Molex in Malaysia's Penang area is seeking a Senior Process Engineer for plating to act as the technical authority for yield, quality and cost performance. You will mentor Process and Senior Process Engineers and lead cross‑functional teams to drive robust improvements and SOP governance.

You will own the technical strategy, sponsor cost‑reduction projects, analyze SPC data, and translate findings into capital and process investments.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
8+ years in manufacturing/process engineering with plating/surface treatment experience.
Advanced expertise in SPC, Cp/Cpk, FMEA, and governing SOPs and control plans.
Proven track record leading cross-functional improvement projects and mentoring engineers.
Strong familiarity with EHS requirements and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Own the technical strategy and roadmap for yield, quality, and cost performance of plating processes.
Lead and mentor Process and Senior Process Engineers and review improvement projects.
Plan, sponsor, and execute complex cost-reduction and process-improvement projects with measurable gains.
Establish governance for process parameters, FMEA, and SOPs to ensure scalable plating processes.
Direct analysis of SPC data and process capability studies to inform investments.
Lead cross-site teams to investigate and resolve complex customer complaints and implement root-cause actions.
Ensure compliance with EHS regulations and lead risk assessments for new/modified processes.
Collaborate with Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering on equipment selection and process flow architecture.
Serve as escalation point and SME for plating-related activities.
