Job summary

Molex Malaysia invites applications for a Plating Manufacturing Engineering Engineer to strengthen plating capability across manufacturing plants. You will lead development and transfer projects, collaborating with Design, Tool Engineering, and Quality teams to meet cost, quality, and production goals.

Based in Malaysia, you will work with suppliers and internal teams to deliver improvements using Lean Six Sigma and robust process controls, while mentoring new engineers and documenting training

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Applied Sciences, Engineering, or a related discipline with relevant industry experience.
• 2-3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet established timelines.
• Basic computer proficiency, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in individual and group settings.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide guidance and share technical knowledge with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead plating development and transfer projects to meet cost, quality, and production goals.
• Collaborate with Design, Tool Engineering, and Quality teams to improve product quality and throughput.
• Coordinate external plating vendor selection and capability assessments.
• Plan, track, and update project status with internal teams.
• Assist in design reviews for plating machines and tooling.
• Ensure improvements comply with approved methods and quality standards.
• Develop resource and timeline plans and drive projects to completion.
• Work with suppliers to sustain plating processes and resolve issues.
• Support Lean Six Sigma and other quality management initiatives.
