Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking a Tech / Sr Tech / AE1 Product Engineer in Ipoh, Malaysia to support NPI/HVM manufacturing, oversee special builds, and coordinate WIP movement until job order closure.

The role involves data gathering, failure analysis, root-cause investigations, and cross-functional system routing. The ideal candidate holds a Diploma in Engineering (Mechatronics/Mechanical/Electrical) with 3–5 years in a high-mix, high-volume environment, and is comfortable with 12-hour shifts, SPC,

Qualifications

• Diploma of Engineering preferably majoring in Mechatronics or Mechanical or Electrical.
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in MNC industries, preferably 5 years in high mix and high-volume manufacturing.
• Willing to work on 12-hours shift, independently and able to solve basic technical issues.
• Good computer literacy, SPC & OPAC knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Support NPI/HVM manufacturing line in the assembly, testing and evaluation of new Optical Transceiver products.
• Manage special build assembly run, monitor and coordinate WIP movement till job order closure in system and physical.
• Assist team to gather data, disposition, analyze data, failure analysis, root cause and corrective action.
• Assist cross function team on system step routing and transaction.
• Interpret mechanical drawing for measurement analysis.
• Exposure to VMI using low and high scope magnification.
• Performing any other duties as directed by the immediate superior from time to time.
