Job summary

Coherent Corp. in Ipoh, Malaysia, seeks a Technician/Associate Engineer I to assist the Test & Development Engineer with setup, debugging and testing activities.

You will support evaluations, project work, test verifications and debugging on failures, while adhering to safety, ESD, cleanroom and housekeeping guidelines. A diploma or degree in engineering is required, with a preference for optical/electronic experience in mass production.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s in Electrical/Electronics/Optoelectronics/Telecommunications.
• Experience in optical device testing/debug/repair/setup in mass production is advantageous.
• Familiar with circuit diagrams and electronics fundamentals.
• Good computer literacy and communication skills.
• Willing to work independently and with support teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist Test & Development Engineer with setup, debug and test.
• Support evaluations, projects and test verifications, and debugging on failures.
• Scrap cost monitoring by product.
• Ensure compliance to Safety, ESD, Cleanroom and Housekeeping guidelines.
• Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
• Drive continual improvement and apply risk-based thinking.
• Comply with ISO requirements and company rules.
