Job summary

COHERENT in Ipoh, Malaysia, is seeking a Senior Manufacturing/Product Engineer to lead NPI and product transfer from R&D to high-volume manufacturing. You will drive yield improvement, cost reduction, and robust qualification along with ECOs and BOM changes.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure production readiness and ongoing process optimization in a 100% onsite manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (EE/ Electronics/ Optical/ Photonics/ Mechanical) or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years in product or manufacturing engineering, NPI, or related field.
• Experience with NPI, product transfers, qualification, and high-volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Manage lifecycle of new transceiver and optical product transfers from R&D to high-volume manufacturing.
• Conduct data-driven analysis to troubleshoot yield issues and drive cost reduction.
• Support ECOs, BOM changes, and create troubleshooting guides.
• Assist pilot lines during assembly, testing, and qualification of new systems.
• Provide engineering support during customer qualification and RMAs.
• Collaborate with R&D, Operations, Quality, Test Eng, and Supply Chain for production readiness.
• Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and quality.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers on product, manufacturing, testing.
