Lexel, part of Taylor's Education Group, seeks a Senior Operations Executive to ensure campus readiness and reliable facilities while coordinating with vendors and internal teams for cost-effective projects. You will oversee safety, compliance, and ICT readiness to support a thriving school community.
You will collaborate with academic and leadership teams to plan Open Days, orientations and community events, delivering a welcoming, well-run campus that supports students, families and staff.
At Lexel, we believe quality international education should be more accessible to more families.
As part of Taylor's Education Group, we are building a new model of private K-12 education that combines a strong Cambridge education with an engaging, community-connected learning experience.
We are looking for a Senior Operations Executive - School Operations & Facilities who takes pride in making things work - safely, efficiently and reliably.
This is not a desk-bound operations role.
You will be one of the key people behind the day-to-day experience of our students, parents and colleagues: ensuring the campus is ready, facilities are well maintained, vendors deliver what they promise, operational risks are anticipated, technology issues reach the right people, and problems get resolved.
If you enjoy building systems, solving practical problems and taking ownership from issue to resolution, we would like to meet you.
Campus Operations & Readiness
Support the setup, commissioning and ongoing operational readiness of the school campus.
Work closely with internal teams, contractors, architects and vendors to ensure projects are completed effectively, on time and with appropriate cost control.
Review campus workflows, traffic movement and operational processes with a focus on safety, practicality and scalability.
Identify operational risks and coordinate appropriate mitigation actions.
Implement operational policies and procedures covering areas such as health & safety, security, safeguarding and environmental requirements.
Facilities & Infrastructure
Keep the campus safe, functional, well maintained and ready for students and staff every day.
Coordinate preventive and cyclical maintenance, repairs and future infrastructure improvements.
Support audits, inspections and compliance with relevant regulations and internal standards.
Coordinate onsite ICT infrastructure readiness, devices, vendors and basic troubleshooting, working closely with the Technology Team when escalation is required.
Make thoughtful use of resources while balancing quality, operational requirements and cost.
Coordinate sourcing, quotations, vendor evaluation and procurement activities in line with Taylor's Education Group processes.
Build productive relationships with contractors and suppliers.
Monitor vendor performance, service levels, quality, cost and delivery.
Conduct vendor reviews and coordinate corrective actions, renewals or retendering where required.
Outsourced Services
You will oversee the day-to-day performance of key service partners supporting the school, including:
Security
Cleaning
Meals and catering
Student transport
Other campus-related services and projects
Your focus will be straightforward: our students, families and colleagues should experience a campus that works.
A school is more than its buildings and systems.
You will work alongside our academic, admissions, marketing and leadership teams to support Open Days, orientations, information sessions, school events and community activities, helping create a welcoming and well-run experience for families.
You are likely to have:
A bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, ICT or another relevant discipline.
Around 7 years or more of relevant operations and/or facilities management experience.
Experience within education, K-12 schools or international schools would be particularly valuable.
Practical knowledge of facilities management, procurement, contractors, vendor management, operational planning and regulatory compliance.
Confidence coordinating multiple vendors, projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
Strong written and spoken English.
Good judgement and the ability to make practical decisions when circumstances change.
You may be a strong fit for Lexel if you:
Take ownership.
You don't simply highlight a problem - you help get it resolved.
Are comfortable being hands-on.
You're equally willing to discuss operational planning with leadership and walk the campus with a contractor to understand why something isn't working.
Care about the details.
In a school environment, safety, reliability and consistency matter.
Think about people, not just processes.
Behind every operational decision are students, teachers, colleagues and families.
Collaborate.
You can work effectively with educators, technology teams, contractors, suppliers and senior stakeholders.
Spend wisely.
You understand that operational excellence is not about spending the most; it is about getting the right outcome and delivering genuine value.
Enjoy building.
Rather than inheriting a mature operation where everything has already been established, you are energised by the opportunity to improve processes, establish standards and help shape how a growing school operates.
You will have the opportunity to:
Build: Help establish the operating systems, standards and practices that will support the campus for years to come.
Influence: Work closely with the school leadership team across multiple areas of campus operations.
Make an impact: Your work directly affects the experience and safety of students, parents and colleagues.
