Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4+ years of relevant experience in infrastructure, network engineering, cloud infrastructure, network security, or related technical roles.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP and subnetting, routing and switching, VLANs and network segmentation, NAT, DNS and DHCP, VPN technologies, ACLs and firewall policies, QoS, and routing protocols (BGP/OSPF).
• Hands-on experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting routers, managed switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and VPN solutions.
• Experience supporting on-premises and cloud infrastructure; strong troubleshooting and analytical skills; good English and Bahasa Malaysia communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure and related devices.
• Manage TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, switching, VLANs, NAT, DNS, DHCP, QoS, and connectivity.
• Configure routing protocols (BGP/OSPF) and secure connectivity (IPsec/SSL VPN, SD-WAN).

We are seeking a highly capable Senior Infrastructure, Network & Cloud Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support the organisation’s network, infrastructure, cloud, and security environments.

The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience in enterprise networking, infrastructure operations, network security, cloud platforms, and troubleshooting. This role will work closely with Engineering, DevOps, Security, and other technical teams to deliver secure, reliable, scalable, and highly available infrastructure solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.

The role requires a proactive and analytical individual who can work independently, manage infrastructure projects, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and provide technical support when required.

Key Responsibilities

Network & Infrastructure

Design, implement, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and related network devices.

Manage and troubleshoot TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, switching, VLANs, NAT, DNS, DHCP, QoS, and network connectivity.

Configure and maintain routing protocols, including BGP and OSPF, as well as Spanning Tree and other relevant network technologies.

Implement and maintain site-to-site connectivity, IPsec VPN, SSL VPN, SD-WAN, and other secure connectivity solutions.

Perform network changes, new site deployments, infrastructure migrations, upgrades, and technology refreshes.

Conduct network device firmware upgrades, configuration backups, preventive maintenance, and lifecycle management.

Monitor network performance and respond to alerts, outages, packet loss, latency, bandwidth utilisation, and intermittent connectivity issues.

Provide remote and onsite technical support for network and infrastructure-related incidents.

Network Security

Implement and maintain network security controls, including firewall policies, ACLs, network segmentation, VPNs, and Zero Trust/ZTNA capabilities.

Monitor and respond to network security threats and incidents within defined service-level agreements (SLAs).

Assist with vulnerability assessments, security hardening, penetration testing and remediation activities.

Apply appropriate CIS/NIST security hardening practices to infrastructure and network devices.

Support certificate lifecycle management and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) activities.

Work closely with security and infrastructure teams to identify and mitigate network security risks.

Cloud & Infrastructure Operations

Support and administer infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.

Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Alibaba Cloud, and VPS environments.

Administer DNS, DHCP, certificates, and other core infrastructure services across hybrid environments.

Collaborate with Engineering and DevOps teams to understand infrastructure requirements and deliver secure, reliable network solutions.

Contribute to infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives using technologies such as Terraform and Ansible.

Troubleshoot operating system, infrastructure, connectivity, and application-related issues across Linux/Unix/RHEL and Windows environments.

Monitor infrastructure and network health using network monitoring and observability platforms.

Investigate network and infrastructure incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Prepare clear Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports for significant incidents.

Respond to infrastructure and security alerts within defined SLAs.

Participate in incident response, problem management, and infrastructure improvement initiatives.

Perform proactive monitoring and preventive maintenance to minimise service disruptions.

Documentation & Technical Governance

Create and maintain accurate network diagrams, infrastructure documentation, IP address records, device inventories, configurations, and technical standards.

Develop and maintain technical runbooks, implementation guides, troubleshooting procedures, and support documentation.

Maintain configuration backups and ensure infrastructure records remain current.

Provide technical assessments and hands‑on feedback when evaluating new infrastructure, networking, monitoring, cloud, and security technologies.

Recommend improvements to infrastructure reliability, performance, security, and operational efficiency.

Participate in infrastructure projects, network deployments, migrations, upgrades, and technology implementations.

Work closely with Engineering, DevOps, Security, and other technical teams to ensure infrastructure requirements are properly implemented.

Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to other members of the IT team.

Support project planning, technical design reviews, implementation, testing, and post‑implementation activities.

Liaise with third party security firms on planning and implementation.

Work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a technical team.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

4+ years of relevant experience in infrastructure, network engineering, cloud infrastructure, network security, or related technical roles.

Strong understanding of:

• TCP/IP and subnetting
• Routing and switching
• VLANs and network segmentation
• NAT
• DNS and DHCP
• VPN technologies
• ACLs and firewall policies
• QoS
• Strong practical knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
• Good understanding of Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) and enterprise switching technologies.

Hands‑on experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting:

• Routers
• Managed switches
• Firewalls
• Wireless access points
• VPN solutions

Experience supporting both on‑premises and cloud infrastructure.

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

Good understanding of network security principles and infrastructure hardening.

Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Ability to work independently and effectively within a technical team.

Preferred / Added Advantages

The following skills and experience will be considered an advantage:

• Experience troubleshooting infrastructure and application‑level issues.
• Relevant professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet, Palo Alto, AWS, Azure, or equivalent would be an advantage.

Working Requirements

Willing to provide remote and onsite technical support when required.

Willing to travel to company offices, data centres, customer sites, or other locations when required.

Willing to participate in a scheduled standby/on‑call or after‑hours support roster when necessary.

May be required to support critical infrastructure incidents outside normal working hours in accordance with company policies and applicable compensation arrangements.
