The Network & Security Executive will play a key role in maintaining a secure, reliable, and high-performing IT infrastructure. The position will oversee day-to-day network administration, security monitoring, firewall and network device management, vulnerability remediation, and incident response, while supporting the continuous enhancement of the organization's network and cybersecurity capabilities.
Job Description:
Network Administration
- Manage, maintain, and monitor the organization's LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi, VPN, and Internet connectivity to ensure reliable and optimal network performance.
- Perform network configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance to minimize service disruptions and downtime.
- Monitor network performance and identify potential issues before they impact business operations.
Security Monitoring & Threat Management
- Monitor security logs, alerts, and events using relevant security monitoring and management tools.
- Identify, analyze, and elevate potential security threats, vulnerabilities, and suspicious activities.
- Support the implementation of security controls and measures to protect the organization's IT infrastructure and data.
Firewall, Switch & Endpoint Security Management
- Configure, maintain, and monitor firewalls, IDS/IPS, core switches, distribution switches, and endpoint security solutions.
- Review and manage firewall rules, access controls, and network security configurations in accordance with security policies.
- Ensure network devices and security systems are properly configured, updated, and securely maintained.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve network and cybersecurity incidents in a timely manner.
- Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective and preventive actions to minimize recurrence.
- Coordinate with relevant internal teams and external vendors where required to resolve technical and security incidents.
5. Vulnerability Management
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments across network infrastructure, systems, and endpoints.
- Coordinate and perform security patching, remediation, and configuration hardening based on identified vulnerabilities.
- Track remediation activities and ensure identified security risks are addressed within the required timeframe.
6. Documentation, Compliance & Audit Support
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date network diagrams, configurations, security documentation, procedures, and incident records.
- Support internal and external IT security audits by providing the required documentation and technical information.
- Ensure network and security practices are aligned with relevant company policies, security standards, and compliance requirements.
7. Technical & User Support
- Provide technical support for network connectivity, VPN access, Wi‑Fi, and security-related issues.
- Assist users in resolving access and connectivity problems while ensuring appropriate security controls are maintained.
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams on network and cybersecurity-related matters.
8. Network & Security Enhancement
- Identify opportunities to improve network performance, security controls, system reliability, and infrastructure resilience.
- Recommend and implement enhancements to network and security architecture, technologies, and processes.
- Keep abreast of emerging networking and cybersecurity technologies, threats, and best practices to support continuous improvement.
Job Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, or related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in network and security administration.
- Good knowledge of LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi, VPN, TCP/IP, VLAN, routing and switching.
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, switches, and endpoint security.
- Knowledge of security monitoring, vulnerability management, patching, and incident response.
- Good understanding of IT security policies, compliance requirements, and audit processes.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good documentation and communication skills, with the ability to prepare technical reports and maintain accurate IT records
- Able to work independently and handle security incidents effectively.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Security+, Fortinet, or CEH are an added advantage.
