Job summary

Misc Group is seeking an experienced Naval Architect to provide technical support and deliver engineering calculations, drawings, and package specifications for floating offshore facilities. You will work to meet schedule and cost targets while ensuring safety and robustness of the design.

The role requires extensive experience in naval architecture, weight control, and conversion projects such as FPSO/FSO. Proficiency with SEA software and AUTOCAD is preferred. Malaysia-based on-site role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Naval Architecture/Marine) or related field.
• Experience in naval architecture design for floating offshore facilities.
• Familiar with weight control and ship systems analysis tools.

• Develop and perform naval architecture deliverables and weight-control analyses.
• Prepare design philosophy, basis of design, and SOW for marine subcontracting services.

Job description

To provide technical support to Lead Naval Architect and perform engineering calculation/ analysis, drawings/ layouts and package specifications for project execution within stipulated schedule and cost.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Develop and perform engineering deliverables for Naval Architecture and Weight Control System in Technology-OBU to ensure safe, fit-for-purpose, robust and cost-effective floating offshore facilities design and operation.
• Develop naval architecture and weight control design and operation philosophy, basis of design, functional specification and SOW for MSQ / RFQ for marine engineering sub-contracting services.
• Develop and perform the engineering deliverables and as per project planning and schedule.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience in engineering design of Naval Architecture (including living quarter, upper deck/ ship outfit) and weight control aspects for floating offshore facilities, including:
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in design and engineering of New Build Hull and conversion of existing oil tanker to floating offshore facilities (i.e. FPSO / FSO, FLNG, etc.).
• Experienced in the use of relevant analysis software, (e.g. GHS, SEASAFE, MOSES, NAPA, MAXSURF, AUTOCAD, SHIPWEIGHT etc.).
• Relevant recognized qualifications – Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Naval Architecture, Structure, Marine or other related engineering) discipline.
