Job summary

Virtuos is seeking a hands-on Machine Learning Engineer in Kuala Lumpur to develop an enterprise AI agent platform with strong backend focus. You will implement agent execution, orchestration, and secure integrations, while delivering features from backend services to frontend interfaces.

Requirements include 5+ years in software development, Python with FastAPI, LLM tool calling, and TypeScript with Vue/React. Collaboration across teams and secure credential handling are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, backend and frontend.
• Strong Python skills with FastAPI, asynchronous programming, REST APIs, SQLAlchemy/Pydantic, PostgreSQL data modeling.
• Hands-on experience with LLM tool calling, agent execution, or workflow orchestration; explain decisions and state management.
• Experience integrating enterprise or third-party systems; API contracts, data mapping, pagination, rate limits, retries.
• Understanding OAuth 2.0/OIDC, authorization, RBAC, and secure credential handling.
• Ability to build reliable asynchronous workflows with task state, concurrency control, idempotency, and recovery.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and Vue or React (Vue 3 preferred).
• Experience with automated testing, Git, CI/CD, and Docker; troubleshoot using logs and metrics; evaluate agents.
• Clear communication with global teams and ability to explain tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Agent platform and orchestration: build harnesses, model/tool execution loops, context management.
• Develop reusable tools/connectors for enterprise APIs, webhooks, and services with clear contracts.
• Design Python backend services, secure REST APIs, and PostgreSQL data models for agents/workflows.
• Build responsive web interfaces for task progress and results using TypeScript and frontend frameworks.
• Security and reliability: protect credentials, enforce access boundaries, ensure audit logging.
• Quality and collaboration: maintain tests, CI/CD, and contribute code reviews and docs.
