Job summary

GS Paperboard & Packaging Sdn Bhd is seeking a Senior Engineer - Mechanical Maintenance to lead mechanical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and efficiency improvements in the Mechanical Maintenance Department. The role focuses on reducing downtime, optimizing spares, and controlling costs while guiding technicians in a demanding heavy-industry environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering from recognized universities.
• Minimum 8-10 years working experience preferably with heavy industries background.
• Fluent in speaking and writing Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Melayu.
• Good hands-on skills and mechanical maintenance knowledge.
• Able to work under tough and fast pace environment and willing to learn.
• Able to be on call during rest day and can work long hours.
• Able to work at Banting (Near KLIA, Sepang).

Responsibilities

• Conduct mechanical troubleshooting to reduce downtime of machinery.
• Identify, analyze, and implement preventive maintenance to avoid reoccurrence of breakdown or minimize unplanned downtime.
• Optimize spare part requirements to ensure availability with minimum inventory cost.
• Manage maintenance costs.
• Identify and implement improvement maintenance to prolong equipment lifespan.
• Plan plant shut activities to minimize plant shut duration and labor cost.
• Handle maintenance issues including on-call and work late if required.
• Manage career development and training of subordinates.
