Job summary

Arup in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design and deliver mechanical building services across property projects, combining technical excellence with project delivery and mentorship.

You will own mechanical design packages, coordinate across disciplines, work with clients and consultants, and manage small project teams. The role offers opportunities for career development and meaningful, socially useful work aligned with Arup's values.

Qualifications

• Recognised tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering with at least 8 years of relevant mechanical building services experience.
• Strong technical capability in HVAC and related building services, with delivery from concept to detailed design.
• Ability to own mechanical design packages and coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong client and stakeholder management, with mentoring of junior engineers.
• Knowledge of local/international codes and professional accreditation progress.

Responsibilities

• Lead the concept and detailed design of mechanical building services across a diverse range of property projects.
• Take technical ownership of mechanical design packages, including calculations, drawings, specifications, reports and coordination.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors and consultants to develop practical, high-quality engineering solutions.
• Manage mechanical workstreams and small project teams, including planning, resourcing, programme, quality and delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers and support business development activities.
