Job summary

Arup in Penang seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design packages for major infrastructure projects across Malaysia and the APAC region. You will provide technical leadership, design management and project delivery while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

You will review ACMV, fire protection, plumbing, BMS, LPG, utilities and mechanical plant systems, coordinating with clients and stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery from design

Qualifications

• 8+ years of mechanical design experience in an engineering consultancy.
• Strong technical expertise in mechanical building services systems including ACMV, fire protection, plumbing, BMS, LPG, utilities and mechanical plant systems.
• Experience coordinating across multiple disciplines and with clients and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with BIM/CAD coordination and digital delivery workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage mechanical engineering design packages across all project phases.
• Provide technical reviews for ACMV, fire protection, plumbing, BMS, LPG, utilities and mechanical plant systems.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors and authorities to ensure delivery and design integration.
• Manage technical deliverables, design programmes, risks, budgets and client expectations; support project managers and directors.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence and business development.
