Job summary

Aurecon Malaysia is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead building services projects from scoping through design and commissioning. You will work with a team of specialists to deliver technically excellent solutions on a variety of projects across markets.

The role requires a Bachelor's in mechanical engineering, 8–10+ years' professional experience, and registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia. Strong BIM, client liaison, and project leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and 8–10+ years of related professional experience in buildings services.
• Strong background in building mechanical design within a consulting environment is advantageous.
• Must be a registered engineer in the Board of Engineers, Malaysia (BEM).
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills; business development and account management abilities are valued.
• Proficiency with BIM tools (Revit, BIM360) and related digital workflows is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical engineering projects from initial scoping through detailed design, commissioning and handover across diverse projects.
• Involved in tender preparation and negotiations to achieve profitable objectives.
• Engage with clients and colleagues to deliver successful outcomes and support market development.
• Provide expert advice on feasibility studies, design reviews, and troubleshooting.
• Develop and analyze mechanical designs ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
• Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and timely delivery.
• Build strong client relationships and deliver tailored solutions.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations and proposals and mentor junior engineers.
