Job summary

TE Connectivity is seeking a Sr MGR Strategic Sourcing & Procurement to establish and optimize procurement strategies for Optical commodities in a global context. The role focuses on aligning sourcing with business goals and driving cost reductions across the supplier base.

You will lead cross-functional teams, manage supplier relationships, and coordinate NPI RFQs and VA/VE projects to meet KPIs, including savings and localization initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in a relevant field.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• 10 years of experience in global/region commodity roles in a multinational company.
• 5 years of people management experience.
• 5 years of Optical related experience.
• Engineering background is advantageous.
• Proven ability to lead projects, coordinate, problem-solve, and make decisive decisions to achieve results.

Responsibilities

• Develop Optical commodity strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Monitor global market trends, supply-demand dynamics, and geopolitical factors.
• Mitigate risks related to commodity price fluctuations.
• Identify and develop new suppliers in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Optimize the supplier base to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Conduct RFQs for NPI (New Product Introduction) projects.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives through comprehensive cost analysis, market data evaluation, and negotiation.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to lead VA/VE projects.
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts to achieve project KPIs including savings, lead time reduction, MOq optimization, dual sourcing, and localization.
• Lead quarterly supplier scorecard reviews to improve supplier performance in quality, delivery, and cost.
• Identify risks, opportunities, and underperforming suppliers; implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and ensure continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in a relevant field
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• 10 years of experience working in a global/region commodity role in a multinational company.
• 5 years of people management experience
• 5 years of Optical related
• Engineering background is advantageous.
• Proven ability to lead projects, coordinate, problem-solve, and make decisive decisions to achieve results
• Proactive and detail-oriented
• Strong analytical and cross-functional skills
• Ability to understand global markets, collaborate effectively with global teams, and experience in working with suppliers in the Asia-Pacific region and Global
• Understanding of optical transceivers, optical components, CPO, optics passive fiber connectivity, Silicon photonics, Lasers (EML, Vcsel etc) and fiber interfaces optical transmission, optical jumpers, components used in AI/accelerated computing interconnects.
• Solid understanding of high speed optical transceiver architecture: optics chain, fiber interfaces and optical budgets.
• Knowledge of optical devices and materials:
• Understanding of the manufacturing flow: and key yield, capacity, and lead time drivers.
• Basic familiarity how these influence component selection and cost.
