Job summary

InterContinental 62s Group plc is seeking an experienced engineering leader to guide the safety, sustainability, and asset performance of new hotel developments across Southeast Asia and Korea. You will partner with owners, project teams, and senior stakeholders to deliver hotels to the highest standards.

In this role you will lead engineering reviews, ensure pre-opening readiness, drive safety and energy efficiency initiatives, and influence design decisions to optimize long-term performance

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience in hospitality, commercial real estate, construction, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, engineering operations, fire life safety compliance, sustainability programmes, and hotel development processes.
• Proven ability to lead complex projects and influence stakeholders across owners, consultants, contractors, operators, and senior leaders.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, balancing technical requirements, commercial considerations, timelines, and outcomes.
• Degree in Engineering; professional engineering, fire safety, mechanical, electrical, or sustainability certifications highly valued.

Lead the engineering, fire life safety, and sustainability agenda for new hotel developments across South East Asia and Korea. This is a unique opportunity to partner with hotel owners, project teams, and senior stakeholders to ensure new hotels are delivered to the highest operational, safety, and sustainability standards. Your day to day

• Lead engineering support for hotel development projects across SEAK, overseeing engineering design reviews, project execution, and pre-opening readiness to ensure hotels are delivered on time and in line with operational requirements.
• Act as the engineering subject matter expert for owners, consultants, and project teams, providing guidance on design optimisation, technical standards, operational efficiency, and long-term asset performance.
• Drive fire life safety compliance through inspections, testing, commissioning activities, and sign-off processes, ensuring all hotels meet required safety standards before opening.
• Champion sustainability initiatives by embedding energy efficiency measures into hotel designs, identifying new technologies, and supporting implementation of environmental performance goals across the portfolio.
• Partner with hotel teams during pre-opening and operational transitions, providing engineering expertise, technical guidance, and support for property improvement projects, conversions, and renovations.

What we need from you

• 10+ years of engineering experience within hospitality, commercial real estate, construction, building services, or a related field, including significant experience leading large-scale development or capital projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of building systems, engineering operations, fire life safety compliance, sustainability programmes, and hotel development processes.
• Proven ability to lead complex projects and influence stakeholders across owners, consultants, contractors, operators, and senior business leaders.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, balancing technical requirements, commercial considerations, project timelines, and operational outcomes.
